Joe Hole - Northern Swell

Very nice unassuming canyon. Start is a little ugly down a wash, but once into the canyon it's very nice. Water in both sections of narrows. I bypassed the first narrows to the right. Big pool at the bottom of the drop. the canyon continues through another narrow section with higher walls (arch on the right side heading down the canyon) and then eventually funnels into another slot. Some water to the two drops that lead into the grotto below the natural bridge. You can head down canyon along the rim on either side of the bridge and get down tot he canyon floor in order to come back up. The drop leading to the bridge looked like an easier climb up than down.

Hiked this with Aedan on Sunday, 28 April. Easy drive down. Stopped at the Wedge Overlook first (beautiful with great camping), then Buckhorn Wash (great camping), then hiked Furnature Wash on the way to to Joe's Hole. Short, two mile round trip. Some water in the narrows, but all avoidable.

Moonshine Wash - San Rafael Desert

Hiked with Aedan, Mia, and Anders. Went quite a ways up the canyon past the narrows. Checked out the climb to West Fork, but there was a full pool below it. Gained the canyon rim just past West Fork and continued back along the rim to the initial entrance. Great hike, beautiful views.

Camping trip with Jeanne's Troop from San Diego. Started on 10 NOV and camped at State Line Campground. Moved the Durango to White House on 11 NOV and hiked Wire Pass to the Buckskin/Paria confluence and camped. 12 NOV walked out Paria.
