Terrific float! No people. Mid April was a great time. No bugs and good flows. We had flows around 700cfs. Great for packrafts and the 10.5' round boat. Midday temps were in the 70s and nighttime temps were in the low 30s. Tons of wildlife including lots of birds like bald eagles, we saw a condor, many water fowl and turkey. We also saw wild horses and river otters. Very easy floating. Make sure you start early to get to the Goblin City TH. Float time was long around 7.5 - 8hrs with quite a bit of paddling at 700cfs. Day 2 to Enron boat ramp was even better. More scenic and one or two good roller rapids. We had novice river people in packrafts and they had a blast. The river was smelly at times. Very brown and silty. Views in the canyon from the boat are underrated. Very beautiful! The Goblin City Hike is terrific. Even just going haflway up was great. Some off trail scrambling. Trail runner shoes a good idea but many did it in Chacos or bedrocks. Horse poop in the camp. Not too many good tent spots because this doesn't get much use. We had 9 people with us. The gravel road from the takeout to put in was about 35-45min. Easy! Fantasy Canyon was a must-do stop for your weekend. Add it to the itinerary for sure. A good sunset thing to do Friday night. Plenty of camping at the put-in with fire rings. About one good spot in the shade at the take-out.
