Jackass Creek

Jackass Creek

Jackass Creek is a nice introduction to the Marble Canyon area. It's mostly easy going, with beautiful towering walls and colors. The motivated can wander up its two side forks to fill out the day a bit. All-in-all, a really nice hike for those with a little rappelling experience.

The canyon is often done without technical gear, with hikers hand-lining down and back up the 12 m ( 40 ft. ) drop mid-way down to the river. For my karma, I would recommend rappelling and ascending gear.
