RATING: Easy Caving
SEASON: Summer and Fall
GEAR: Caving gear, 30 m ( 99 ft. ) rope. The cave is cold and wet, dress appropriately. Several headlamps, helmets, and knee/elbow pads.
WATER: It can be quite wet depending on the year. My trips have been fairly dry, but others have reported shallow puddles to crawl through making for a much colder and wetter experience. Be sure to have enough warm layers to deal with wet cave conditions.

Providence Cave, perched high above Logan in an alpine setting, provides a good outing for the family with competent leadership. The cave itself is easy, except for a couple of tight squeezes at the beginning. This is best enjoyed during the heat of the summer or early fall. Roads will be impassable in the winter/spring.

Note: Jon Jasper has an excellent survey map on his website of the cave. Well worth printing and bringing with you.
