Red Man of Timpie Valley took us multiple trips to find, but boy, was it worth it! The pictograph is one of the best ones I have seen in Northern Utah. Scenery on the hike in and from the cave where the pictograph is located is the cherry on top! This is a dramatic and interesting hike, relatively close to Salt Lake City. It is short, but steep. Very do-able with young children if they are willing to be carried (and your willing to carry!). Our toddler enjoyed the challenge and caves but needed carried for sections.

The pictograph is in quite good shape and seems to depict a warrior getting ready for battle. This is one panel I would love to know the artists thoughts while he or she was creating it. Was this a lone wanderer aspiring to be a warrior, or artist just passing through that was inspired by the views? The style appears to be Fremont, which were in northern Utah from about 1000 AD to 1300-1400 AD.
