Escalante never ceases to amaze me with its colors and geology. Tucked in a little valley not too far from Hole in the Rock Road, Witches Garden is a really colorful and interesting place to wander. The valley has slickrock expanses and hoodoos and a canyon, but also crumbling badland-type cliffs and crumbly colorful towers that reminded me of the scenery near Hanksville.

This is a fun place to spend a few hours wandering. The route described here is what I thought were the most interesting things to see, but there is plenty of room to poke around and see other sights. It is one of those places that makes me wish I were a better photographer!

In addition, outside the Witches Garden area is a short hike to a small area of towers that reminds me a bit of Devils Garden.
