#conditions We ran the Canyon after it flash flooded twice Rebuilt both anchors on the preferred route entrance there wasLots of mud and quick sand We did not encounter any log jams The canyon seems to be flushed out and clean Super fun canyon We bought wet suits but they were not needed
#conditions Descended 4/1/24 First down climb section still has water - shin deep Final narrows section has a surprise pool Just tickled the nips at 5’ 2” Didn’t see a keeper pothole anywhere Super fun canyon Highly recommend Great bang for the buck
6/17/2022 - Both rappels are really well bolted The first set is LDC off the large boulder you access by a small down climb On the second rap we found an unnecessary tangled mess of webbing with two overhand knots connecting the webbing to the fat chains, super scary looking I'd say the flow was in medium-goosh mode the day we did it
#conditions The webbing on all the anchors was gone on our outing There is no midway anchor currently when you rap off the first tree We were 10 feet short and had to tie on extra cord to rap the last little overhang Our rope is 210' long static FWIW, with about 5' being used around the tree with a fiddle stick An extension at that anchor would be recommended and would help protect the bark of the treeSomeone added a 1/4" bolt to the second station with the thread This is not going to hold up well in the soft ...
Did on 4/26 Super mellow canyon that’s really easy and fun We found the down climb easy but there was webbing if you wanted to rappel Rest of the canyon was smooth and easy, took us 15hrs for a group of three
Holy nutzo This canyon is crazy cool but definitely not for beginners There are several super narrow slots that some of the boys in the group had a really hard time fitting through and the slots are seemingly endless In many parts we had to climb up and stem across We went in May and there were several areas of waist high pool with one we had to jump down into that went over our heads It got pretty cold after that so I'd recommend bringing an extra pair of dry clothes The last repel is siiick The webbing is due for...
I solo'd this one a couple weeks ago and it was a great morning before heading out to nearby rock art I parked near the bridge on I70 Anchors were in good shape, and I removed some old tat from the log jam The GPX loaded into my watch was super useful getting me to the head, and there were ample well-trodden trails on the hike out to avoid the crypto Canyon was completely dry #conditions
We ran the canyon on 2/24/24 during a break in the weather Sunny skies and mid 50s We took an easy pace and were about 3 hours car to car Webbing was looking a bit worn Super good enough, but will need replacing soon The big rap off the bluff was beautiful Rigging a courtesy anchor is a good idea to reduce rope grooves over the edge We'll be back to do this one again
Ran the canyon 5/30/22, completely dry, all the webbing looked new, we were right behind a guided group form ZIon Guru, looks like they run the canyon pretty often and keep up on the webbing Super fun canyon, the rappels are small and straightforward Great for groups with beginners
Bushwack boogie is sweet! Ran it on 1/27/19 put in some new red webbing on the first and last rappel there was ice floating down the dirty devil while we crossed it but the water wasnt any deeper then mid thigh approach beta was a little rough there is now 9nly one sandy bank and the other side is cliffed out you see a big bolder but have to bushwack through quite a bit of tamerisk to see it Super fun would recomend
