Ford Creek Waterfall
Price Canyon
Overview
If you’ve ever driven the winding curves of Highway 6 between Spanish Fork and Price, you may have spotted a waterfall on a bend near the top of Price Canyon. Known to ice climbers as the 'Pricecicle', Ford Creek Waterfall is a seasonal shapeshifter. While the summer months often find it reduced to a quiet, mossy trickle, the arrival of winter transforms this roadside alcove into a dramatic, photogenic, 60-foot pillar of ice that is popular with ice climbers.
I had driven past the falls countless times over the years, stopping once in the summer and not being very impressed. I stopped again in the winter when it was frozen and found it a much more dramatic and impressive spot! It is a pretty falls, especially in the winter, and probably worth the stop any time of year if you like waterfalls.
