I agree These places BELONG to the people not to a select few who want to brag they have been there but won't tell others You do realize that our tax money for the most part builds the roads in and funds the academics who dig here They belong to the people not the select privileged in their own minds few Who is to say we can trust you are you keeping these places secret so you can go in and loot them, huh I have hundreds of GPS locations for sites I will gladly share

there are a bunch really great petroglyphs and pictpographs as well as habitation sites in this canyon there more you look the more you will find

The sites are free and primative We saw a few fire rings and found which one was less windy This was mid-March

The approach is minimum five hours of HARD effort Not moderate effort, but hard There is no trail Even with an excellent GPS, it is still a beast approach, as ledges, bushwhacking, boulder and scree abounds It sucks, especially with a pack I am a pretty experienced canyoneer, and would only recommend three days for this route - one for the approach, one for the canyon, and one for the exit There is so much beauty in the second half that it seems a shame to rush past every waterfall oasis trying to beat the darkness...

There is NO hiker parking in the entire Canyon Cove subdivision see sign at Wasatch Blvd trailhead and other more accurate internet sites The Holladay City no parking areas in the subdivision are areas where residents and other non-hikers are not even allowed to park The neighbors on Oak Canyon Drive are welcoming of hikers so honor the parking restrictions

I'm not a technical canyoneerer at least not by myself, but I'm thinking about hiking down into White Roost via the exit trail I think that's what Kelsey calls the horse trail, and then hiking downcanyon, setting up a base camp somewhere, and then spending a day or 2 exploring the North Fork, Robbers Roost, etc I've seen some pics of North Fork that look gorgeous, but haven't seen any reports about camping down there, just canyoneering the upper parts of the canyonany advice would there be decent sites and water

This is listed as class 4, but it seems like from other descriptions that at least Swett is hikeable without any equipment Is that right Also, how far along Swett before there are good camp sites Sounds like it might be a pack your own water situation there

I don't remember any great sites to camp along the way Once you get to the ridge, it is quite steep and rocky There are several routes up Nebo, but this is the only route I have done, so can't comment on the others

Give me a break Everettit feels to me like you are trying to scare away visitors to the public lands around your home rather than any concern about conservation Too many of you 'locals' around there think our public lands should be 'private' Not going to happen bud I do understand the need for conservation efforts at some of these sites though Maybe cameras, etcwill have to happen at some point
