#conditions Super fun wet conditions ~10 short swims Not sure where the keeper is supposed to be but we didn’t see one No rappels Incredible canyon
Does anyone know if we can do the first 2 raps with one 70 m rope doubled or If we would need a tag line We can only find conflicting information online Any information would be super helpful!
Ran through Extended Lisa Falls on 6/24/22 There were two of us, both experienced and fast hikers with medium canyon experience The approach took us 1 hr 20 min and RTR understates how steep, exposed and dense with scrub oak it is We followed the ridge up best we could There were multiple fifth-class sections with a lot of exposure that required creativity in route finding The ridge took us within 50 yards of RTR's "Down" waypoint where we found someone had set up a 50ish foot rappel to skip some sketchy looking do...
There is a major flaw in your directions as I learned this weekend:"Follow this two-wheel-drive graded dirt road for 245 miles to an obvious junction with an information kiosk Reset your odometer at this junction 12S 562756mE 4258500mN / N38° 28' 21" W110° 16' 50" Go left east for 51 miles to a side road on the right signed Horseshoe Canyon 12S 569083mE 4261086mN / N38° 29' 44" W110° 12' 28" "I took a left at this three-way intersection and wasted 40 minutes on a jeep trail to nowhere In your defense, the Park S...
Ran this on 7/3/23 Perfect flow! Just enough to get your lower half wet and spray up on your face, but never overwhelming Approach route is super easy to find and even is listed on the Gaia GPS map All anchors in good condition
We did MB 10/26/19 and it was in great shape! No water and beautiful lines Our kids were super excited about the cool narrows and rappels Does anyone know what the canyon just East of the exit gully is Would you share the details please
3/28/2020 My son and I just did this canyon -- left fork You could do as many as 5 raps or as few as 2 so a super place for beginners like us Bone dry with all anchors in great shape You could also rap the drop in and then climb back up on slabs for a many do overs as you like!
I had done Egypt 1 on the 16th and it was the same super muddy with thick clay and no good anchors for the 2 slides still made it through fine and had a good time
Did this canyon 3/26/21 and there was no fixed rope on the first rappel of the north fork That exit is super sketchy in places and the “easy 4th class” scramble up the last edge required assistance for those of us with short legs!
