Amazing slot canyon loop if you do PAB and Spooky Make sure you hang a left out of spooky to get you back to the trail that heads back up tothe parking lot Parking got a pretty crowded this Memorial day weekend Probably better to visit on a non-holiday weekend
Comment on East / West Fork of Big Spring Canyon - High Spur
I was just in the East fork of Big Spring over the weekend I thought I'd report that the trailhead parking spot you mention has been covered with cut sage brush wood and rocks in order to hide it and discourage anyone parking there, likely by the BLM
I only did 3/4ths of the East fork, but I would like to report for anyone planning to visit that there is a somewhat tight part that may discourage claustrophobes, my brother asked to exit early as he was not comfortable in the small parts It's nothing compared to Mid...

Comment on Bryce Canyon - Bryce
Fun way to visit Bryce & beat the crowds & fees is to hike up from Tropic Take any road from town west until it ends right at the park boundary An short, easy hike puts you in the heart of the hoodoos
Comment on Shenanigans - Middle West Butler
I'd say the required time is 5-7 hours We flew through on a recent visit, car-to-car time of 55 hours 4 hours is not possible without running
Comment on Zebra and Tunnel Slot - Escalante
I'm going to be in the area in May and would like to visit Zebra canyon It sounds like there is fairly deep water more often than not If I were to encounter a lot of water, do you think it would be possible to go around the canyon and enter it from the other side
Comment on No Mans Canyon - Robbers Roost
Great canyon, but i think we need to add a few waypoints to the GPS coordinates to the exit And people stop building random rock cairns! they are everywhere out there after the moki steps we invented our own exit which was a lot easier we went out near the south fork trail head you can stay higher longer The last rappel for us was 115' i gps'd it and marked it on the rope if you try and fold a 200' rope without blocking up top you can get yourself into trouble unless those rocks at the bottom decided to move up the...
Comment on Not Mindbender Canyon - Robbers Roost
Did this canyon on 4/6/13 Used the short-cut access to the south prong of the canyon Found shallow water in 3 places & was able to avoid by stemming At one, we tossed in a rock to provide footing for one step across Pothole before the last rap was dry so meat-anchored in & clambered out Final rap station was rigged on right side LDC with a bolt and 11 mm rope with a link on the end hanging over the edge Also a loop installed on same rope further back from the edge On left side of canyon was a long piece of blue web...
Comment on North East Fork of TCB - Robbers Roost
Completed 4/21/13 Would not call this "family-friendly" This is a good introduction to vary narrow canyons Even skinny people will not be able to pass through on the floor of some sections Take a minimal pack No rappeling required so no rope or harness but 40 ft webbing to assist with climbing back up if going to the big drop Found water in numerous spots up to shin deep Most were avoidable but not all The climb back up from the end is quite physical, but extended stemming further back up canyon is also There are ...
Comment on Leprechaun Canyon - North Wash
I am 6'1" & 200 lbs I was able to fit through Egypt 3 with a little squeezing at points I want to complete the middle fork & was curious if anyone has any thoughts A couple years ago I did the right fork, and we hiked up the left fork about 200 feet before turning around, not due to being skinny, but it was loaded with spiders Massive daddy long legs in swarms all over the walls We cried like little girls while pushing & shoving each other out of the way Also if I did due the middle fork is there a way to exit if t...
