Comment on MMI Canyon - Arches National Park
I've done it right after a rain and it was bad then Didn't mind it when it was dry but I won't do it after rain again and certainly not with snow or ice Big penalty points Earlier in the posts I give coordinates to what I call the sand hill or something like that I have exited that way a couple times and is my preferred exit even if the park doesn't like it
Comment on Lost and Found Canyon - Arches National Park
I don't, there is no real route finding beyond exiting and entering the canyons at those 2 points
Comment on North Caineville Mesa South Route - Caineville
I've seen references to a possibly easier route up the back, through a notch at 38399626, -110966440 - the route by the cement mixer is WAY too steep for me, I might eventually try the back routehttps://wwwrecreationgov/camping/gateways/16405https://wwwblmgov/visit/north-caineville-mesa-trailhttps://ezweltyphotosheltercom/image/I0000Q2YZJwIWICMhttps://ezweltyphotosheltercom/searchI_DSC=North%20Caineville%20Mesa&_ACT=search&I_DSC_AND=t
Comment on Moonshine Wash - San Rafael Desert
My son Trevor 13 and I went through Moonshine on Oct 30 and enjoyed the spectacular beauty of this slot and the history as well The downclimbs are all straightforward and fun I upclimbed all of them to make sure I could in case we had to retrace our route The upclimbs in the West Fork were a different story The traditional crux was relatively easy compared to the next 2 upclimbs out of potholes Like Ryan states, the canyon can change with every flood and obviously its in burley mode as we made it out of the fi...
Comment on Big Horn Canyon - Arches National Park
Went out on 2/9/2021 We were able to do the route with one 70m rope By downclimbing the first section of the first rappel and then rappelled using the single bolt/rock column Nik mentioned For the last bit, would recommend downclimbing the chute not rappelling off small pile of rocks and then heading left until you see a good sized, cubical boulder with webbing on it Rap that and there is a small brown sign that points you down the small wash out to the roadA really lovely jaunt in the backcountry of Arches! The Tu...
Comment on Shivwits Arch - Virgin River Gorge
Did this hike today It's a good one It's almost easier to scramble than try to find the trail At the top, by the arch if you hike up the hill to the south, it opens up to about a half mile of class 4 scrambling On the map above it calls it Grey Points Super fun
Comment on Bow and Arrow Canyon - Potash Road
We used 2x60m dynamic ropes and both middle points were at the bottom of the "37m" I know there is a lot of stretch but we seem to have this happening a lot, bringing 2 ropes, when one would do it
Comment on Lower Butler Wash - River Panel - Comb Ridge
My visit was in early June 2019 Just an fyi, I had to do two wet crossings of the creek a short ways before reaching the river panel One was only shin deep, but the other was waist deep with slick footing, so a walking stick would have been very handy Luckily I didn't slip and soak my camera : The river panel is WELL worth the effort to reach it! All the photos I added are from the river panel
