Comment on Sheiks Canyon - Grand Gulch
Have not done this trail myself, but we talked to the rangers about the loop hike entering at Bullet Canyon and exiting at Sheik's They strongly discouraged us from doing that loop, as the exit out of Sheik's is potentially hard to find, there are loose rocks that are potentially dangerous, and they've had to do multiple rescues If you plan to do the loop, at least visit the Kane Gulch Ranger Station and talk to them first

Comment on Chute Buttress - Southern Swell
One of my favorite hikes, did it 2 times already though I live about 5000 miles away Easy access 2WD if you walk the last 04 miles, obvious parking area, never boring, always some new small "challenges" and changing terrain, great viewsChanges to my last visit: there is now a "giant" cairn to indicate the gully you need to climb and a quite well cairned trail from above the slickrock all the way to the top A bit of the first dryfall crumbled on the right side, so the left side is now easier to climb around
Comment on Happy Canyon (via Poison Spring) - Dirty Devil
Happy sounds and looks awesome I would like to start at Burr Point and make a 2 or 3 day backpack out of it Any suggestions on good campsites Are there any other good canyons along the way to visit Would a loop hike be a good idea coming out at Poison Springs and having a second vehicle nearby Any information is appreciated Thanks

Sounds like our trip, with an almost one year old on my back in epic winds! Neat place to visit
Comment on Dunham Slot - Paria
Did the canyon on 5/17/2020 The second rappel was good with a solid deadman and a bolted anchor Definitely take the canyon all the way to the Paria, very scenic and very close to the end of the slot Great canyon overall but was short, perfect for a half day adventure It was great for us because we were able to visit the Petrified Forest after to return a cursed piece of petrified wood
Comment on Neon Canyon - Escalante
Yes, there was a bolt on our visit and I have heard fairly recently last spring I think that it was still there I think most go through the first pothole for the fun or just don't look around when they get there
Comment on North Caineville Mesa South Route - Caineville
I've seen references to a possibly easier route up the back, through a notch at 38399626, -110966440 - the route by the cement mixer is WAY too steep for me, I might eventually try the back routehttps://wwwrecreationgov/camping/gateways/16405https://wwwblmgov/visit/north-caineville-mesa-trailhttps://ezweltyphotosheltercom/image/I0000Q2YZJwIWICMhttps://ezweltyphotosheltercom/searchI_DSC=North%20Caineville%20Mesa&_ACT=search&I_DSC_AND=t
Comment on Lower Butler Wash - River Panel - Comb Ridge
My visit was in early June 2019 Just an fyi, I had to do two wet crossings of the creek a short ways before reaching the river panel One was only shin deep, but the other was waist deep with slick footing, so a walking stick would have been very handy Luckily I didn't slip and soak my camera : The river panel is WELL worth the effort to reach it! All the photos I added are from the river panel
