Comment on High Spur Canyon - High Spur
Id go out on a limb here and say its an insignificant obstacle The most notable parts were mentioned, nothing else really stood out to give beta about What I think you may be referring to, is the downclimb into a darker crack, and you'll have to stop and think about getting your footing right to stem above the pothole without actually dropping into it The canyon is a few feet wide here and has kind of a curve to it, so it makes for a quick challenge I think there is a photo of it here titled "The cold Pothole" We...
Comment on Pine Creek - Zion Main Canyon
We did this yesterday, April 3rd It was a cool day and cold water with a cool breeze that made for some discomfort at the last rap We, the parents and 3 boys 18,15,10, did the the canyon in 5 hours #conditions lots of swimming in the long corridors We were able to swim away from the wall in the cathedral to get to a point where it was waist deep so we could disconnect We found 3 solid anchor points for the last rappel We did option 2 since it was the first one found and it was a little exposed but felt like we ...
Comment on Egypt 2 Canyon - Escalante
Ran 9/17/25 Our first rap this height Legendary! Mostly dry, but there is mud from rain a week or so back Mandatory ankle deep mud at a couple points as of this report For the entry, I rigged a removable anchor around the rock with the little hole just by the wash photo added There was an anchor at the 2nd rappel that was loaded with grime from the storms a week or 2 ago I cut that out, reused the Mammut rapide still in great shape thanks! and replaced it with a some red webbing No pool below, but very muddy Mandat...
Comment on Bullet Canyon - Grand Gulch
My husband and I just did the loop in Bullet and out Sheiks We stayed two nights The first night we found a wonderful camp in the confluence area of the canyons under a cotton wood tree in the shade Sooo, many birds singing! There is no water available currently at jailhouse spring or Bullet spring Day two we explored down to green canyon spring It's gorgeous and we were able to follow the wash as it's pretty dry It's about 3 miles out and back, 6 total Then in the evening we moved camp to the bottom of Sheiks...
Devils Canyon Nature Trail - Blanding
Devils Canyon Nature Trail is a short interpretive trail at the Devils Canyon Campground between Monticello and Blanding This short trail makes a great "leg-stretcher" if passing through the area The campground is also quite nice, if needing a place to camp for the night This short 04-mile hike has 15 markers with information about the area On our visit, there was one very tattered brochure to use and return to the trailhead register when done with the hike The points of interest are reproduced below in case the br...

Comment on East / West Fork of Big Spring Canyon - High Spur
I was just in the East fork of Big Spring over the weekend I thought I'd report that the trailhead parking spot you mention has been covered with cut sage brush wood and rocks in order to hide it and discourage anyone parking there, likely by the BLM
I only did 3/4ths of the East fork, but I would like to report for anyone planning to visit that there is a somewhat tight part that may discourage claustrophobes, my brother asked to exit early as he was not comfortable in the small parts It's nothing compared to Mid...
