Hiked with Carl & Sugar/Lex. Hiked from camp on Old Sheffield Rd, climbed to arch and also checked out natural bridge. Helped dogs on rock step up to arch. Ran car shuttle to Escalante River TH. Great hike! |

We turned this into an easy overnight backpack trip with my 7 year old. Great hike, not the prettiest in escalante, but there was solitude. The arch is great as well as the Maverick bridge. My reason for 4 stars - a lot of sand and near the end of the wash a lot of grazing damage. There was water in the wash, but I wouldn't recommend depending on it - it was full of cow pies and brackish. |
