Ticks

20 Total Ticks

We went with the goal of staying in canyon. Built a deadman at 40 ft drop with three nice rocks. Slung a rock arch at the drop which comes right before Moki steps. FYI if you do this drop, (a 15 to 17 ft chute) it is crumbly and prolly impossible to upclimb as well as the Moki steps are very intimidating. So make sure you have a good size rock for a chock stone to get out as it's followed by a a small tight section and a 20 ft drop. We we're very fourtanate to have brought a rock with us else I may be telling you another story. Advanced anchor skills needed and I would not personally count on rocks being there to build with.

Dry mode. Went down past sheep bridge to where it opens up a bit and then back up. Upclimbs would be difficult with mud or water present. Top 5 non technical Utah slot in my book

Kinda fun

Blarney left fork was bone dry. There was a fourth anchor set up which i didn't use and dow climbed. 3rd rappel a piece of webbing was quite weathered and we decided to use double anchor behind. https://youtu.be/Lr9qMg6tGjw

Arrived at Egypt 1 and was surprised by the aproxmately extra 13 ft of first rappel. we had a 65 ft rope that was about 10 ft off the ground when we double stranded it. so we singled stranded the first rap using to lengths of webbing as a pull cord. First rap is about 40 ft. canyon was dry besides last slide into an ankle deep mud pool. exsisting anchors in canyon were bombers. Fun spot perfect day.

very fun when only waist deep water https://youtu.be/XcYnzKLuXGo

made this a casual halloween hike. took about 85 minutes to get to trailhead from hwy 12. you can just barely make arch out from road and then walk south thru the big sage field. took 2 hours to visit both and eat a sandwich. great arches and ya have it all to self. this same parking area is the short cut into coyote gulch, so i will be back.

fun trip. hiked about a mile down canyon and turned around. The big stem comes early on. Fun good practice but my begginer friend declined trying when i offered either a hand line or support from the bottom. it can be spooky for a novice stemmer. canyon was pretty, with some narrows.

great canyon! easy approach.i took my friend down who wants to get into canyoneering to see how she does with small down climbs and stemming. muddy but not to muddy at all. loved it very photogenic. took the quick exit out side canyon 44 minutes after bridge.

Zebra is filled with alot of water currently. Over head deep. I wasnt to be denied a taste of it so emptied ny pockets and began to wade. After 20 feet it quickly went to chest deep. Another 20 feet i was swimming/stemming. Not having done this slot before but knowing the V shaped floor and going it alone, I decided after about 150 yards to turn back. I shoulda brought my wetsuit and dry bag. Great canyon i will be back. * *denotes it rained alot just 3 days ago. Normally not that deep of water.
