Nice quick canyon

Nice canyon. Dry. Easy to find. Less easy, but not hard, to find our way back to the trucks. Trust the trail cairns when you find them. Beautiful views at the end. Cool that you double back onto the canyon to see the first two rappels.

Got a late start, so only went as far as we could without a hand line assist with all the kids. Got caught in the windy snow shower, so it made the trip back to the car interesting, almost lost the trail a couple of times. But that's what GPS is for.

A little tricky to find the spur off the main trail. Fantastic rappel below the arch. The keeper was dry after the second rappel so we missed the rappel anchor above and saw it after we were through. The last rappel anchor is a sketchy. A pile of rocks on a large rock slab perched on a mild slope.. If there was ever a need for bolted anchors, This would be an ideal situation.

Did the Left Fork. Used hand lines and rope rappels vs. down climbs for almost everything because we had 5 kids in the group and it was just safer. Very narrow for the adults. Very, very tight crawl through a rock fall near the end. Think skinny and you'll make it, Mostly dry when we went, mid calf pool at a dogleg turn near the end that was unavoidable.

Always start our canyon trip every year with this rappel to assess and prep everyone. Very busy when we were there.

First real Canyoneering. Wet suit and pulleys needed to transfer gear in a couple of spots. The exit is further than expected in the Canyon. Keep going until it really opens up and you see the rock cairns. A couple of false Buttes and trails to find the truck.

Nice spot in Goblin Valley

Class trip with D. took a ranger guided tour with the class.

Going in on Mill Rd is more soft sand, but smoother ride with a couple tricky 4x4 sections. Beautiful views and more to explore than just the tunnel.
