Bow and Arrow Canyon - Potash Road

Nice beginner canyon with green paint taking you to the entrance of the canyon. Two bolts/anchor options. First option is nice and not a big of an overhang. Second is mostly overhang. We did overhang and got some beautiful pics. Rest of the canyon was quick and easy. Fun day with some new people in the canyons!

Southern Baptist Canyon - Southern Swell

Did this one with Collin and Keri. Crushed through most of it. Very fun downclimbs. First technical downclimb had water but was totally avoidable. The raps were fun. The penultimate rap was awkward and makes you pucker up a bit but got over it and had a blast! Terribly long hike out for how short the canyon is. Easy drive in.

Baptist Draw - Southern Swell

Baptist Draw- long route. Excellent place for beginners. Took 4 newbies on this one and had a ton of fun. Great way to get comfortable with reaching slack on your rappel. Very dry all the way through. Took us over 9 hours with people not comfortable downclimbing or rappelling. Still an absolute blast and all smiles. Cool day and finished with a 13 mile day. Did this with Collin, Keri, Kelly, Alya, and Sean.

East / West Fork of Big Spring Canyon - High Spur

East Fork. Group: Juan, Max, Naomi, Bri, Collin, and Nicolas. Nicolas led us through this section. Fun and short! Was very short but had potential to be more difficult if it had water in the keeper potholes. We didn't deal with any but did some good jumps into the potholes. We didn't do a rappel on this one. Whizzed through it but was fun and more technical. Not hard but a blast. Need high clearance to get to trailhead.
East Fork. Group: Juan, Max, Naomi, Bri, Collin, and Nicolas. Nicolas led us through this section. Fun and short! High Spur Canyon - High Spur

Group: Naomi, Juan, Bri, Collin, and Max. Met Nicolas taking pictures and invited him to do the rappel. Very meh for most of the canyon. Not difficult. Very far to get there but great beginner canyon. Was windy af. Last section before the downclimbs was actually quite beautiful. One of the more beautiful areas we've done as far as windy slots. Down claimed after the first rappel. Set up a hand rope for the second down climb. I set up the rope for the rappel. Was a fun overhang. 2 hour walk back to the car. Would have been nice to have another car.

Morocco Canyon - North Wash

I tried leading this one with Collin's help. Learned the butterfly knot. Learned to direct to the dlink if the rappel is below then set up my rap. Will have the extension weighted and it's easier to start on those exposed starts. 6 rappels, a little wet, great place to learn to lead a group! Helped Jeff a bit along with Collin. Wear sunscreen and Tevas. No snek sightings.

Lucky Charms - North Wash

It was charming. Quick! And a little bit of everything as described. Good to take a beginner or if you have time to sneak in a quick canyon. Should have taken rope for the three rappels that were set up. The up-climb was fun! I got scared towards the end of the climb, should have had my back on the right side on the last bit. Potential for a 250 foot rappel on the side of the descent you can hike down. Petroglyphs were written over which was a huge shame...

Middle fork. Crew was Naomi, Collin, Alf, Jeff, and Juan. Took 6 hours with a big crew. Knee pads necessary. Loads of fun. Tiring and lots of stemming. Shoulder blades hurt but would do again. Should have done the first rap before the point on this website rather than the two smaller ones. First and last rap, we used the the rope as a handling rather than gearing up. Could have gotten away with using all raps as handrails but rapped the entrance into the canyon. Probably don't take a beginner again. Stressed out the friends that were newer to canyoneering. No snek sightings.

Right Fork. With Juan, Collin, Jeff, and Alf. Went right because left looked crowded. Quick and easy rap. Beautiful slot. Fun downclimb on hand rope. No snek sighting.

Right Fork. Went with Juan, Alf, Jeff, and Collin. Great time going through this canyon. Juan had to ascend because he forgot his backpack on the large rap. Good intro stemming. Nothing hard, overall enjoyable canyon and fun raps!

Used a single rope and returned for the rope. Fun beginning. Nice intro to the Fall season. Rattlesnake at the bottom of the rappel in the rocks to your righr.
