Attempted this today from the V Road (about 3 miles past past the Harris Wash trailhead). I believe this route is quite a bit shorter, more like 2-3 hours RT hiking if you have a 4wd and know where you are going. The road is sandy but no problem in my 4wd Tacoma. There are only a couple decent places to park, though. Unfortunately I didn't have full route information, just a vague map from a book, so didn't find it (looks like I got close). Another time! |

I hiked to Islomania Dome on Saturday with a couple of friends and (in addition to lots of preliminary research) used your app as our primary guide for route finding with GPS as our backup. I cannot stress how helpful this app was for this trek. We returned via the optional loop which was definitely tricky but worth the extra effort. We didn't see a single soul which made the trip even more special. Thanks for sharing your expertise! |
