After descending Fiddle Me This, we entered Middle Echo and continued down canyon. The canyon was beautiful with deep, dark narrows and winding passages. The rappels were short and straightforward. There was a lot of water in the canyon after the recent rainfall, and we wore 5/4 wetsuits. The exit hike out was steep and challenging, but followed a paved and well-used trail. Although Middle Echo was pretty, it wasn't spectacular, and I think the pay-to-play is somewhat high. The approach hike was short, but the exit was long and exhausting. Maybe I was just feeling out of shape that day.

very cold water, be prepared with thick wet suits. The keeper is a keeper, we had to use a pack toss. Have it ready to go before the rap, as we spent tooooo long in the cold water. Fun canyon!
