Ticks
Started at 4p. Creekbed was dry until about mile 2.2. The remainder of the hike was in the water. It was a warm day but once we reached the creek it was much more bearable. I had my hydroboots and loved wearing them! Ray, Olivia and Eden wore Chacos and were super irritated by all the small rocks that got lodged in their sandals. I thought it was a lovely hike but since we doing canyons it was a little underwhelming but if you never canyoneered then it is an outstanding hike. All trails logged the total distance as 7.3 miles but that doesn't seem accurate bc my apple watch logged 6.3 miles. Luckily Ethan came and got us at the visitor center after the hike bc we didn't have any success trying to bum a ride back to the Volvo.
Great canyon 1 person at the end. Otherwise to myself
Solo out and back. 12 miles, 6:38, 924’ gain.
Devin, Tessa, and Madeleine. Really low water. Kept our feet dry for the whole hike.
Did this from the bottom up because we were afraid the weather would turn us around and didn't want to just do the dry boring part and then have to hike back up it. We got to just above the uppermost falls. This was the girls favorite hike they've ever done. We got grandma and grandpa Morris up the ledge to the left (looking up canyon) of the lowest falls but it was a struggle. Everyone was able to slide back down the lowest falls into the pool without trouble.
Went solo, but ran into a guy and his daughter to share the shuttle and hike together. Fun hike! Tricky move prevents the masses from hiking up from below.
neck deep wade in one part, otherwise avoidable water for the most part. wore water shoes and made for an easy and ejoyable day! No one else out there.
Sulphur Creek Capitol Reef
Fun canyon. Took the kids when they were little. They had a blast.
