04/02/2022-Super muddy Took an extra hour or so to work through the sand mud and snow
Ran 8/14 conditions were good Only 1 unavoidable section of water Everything else could be avoided with some creativity and hard work Rap 5 had 2 sets of bolts 1 set down canyon left with pretty high exposure 1 set at the head of the drop DCR The dcr set had no webbing, so we used it to create a traverse line out to the exposed anchor Lots of grooves here but careful rope management prevented tangles and sticks Rap 6 there is some cord around the tree still, but a little up canyon there was webbing around a large s...
Super muddy with nasty stinky mud Not sure it’s worth the $15 for now Anchors in good shape Fun day regardless 25 hours car to car
Road to the trailhead was great Very little water in the canyon - did not get wet Super fun! One of the best canyons in the area Took 2 of us around 4 hours
#conditions Descended Birch Hollow today: one dad, two teenage girls, 5hr 15min round trip Road in is bomber The upper section to the first dry-fall/bypass is MUDDY!! Try and stay on the meandering trail that criss-crosses the creek to keep out of the mud- good luck! The other option would be the logging road approach Tom Jones mentions in his beta The two dry-fall raps were super cool with the creek running Water stopped after the second one and rest of canyon was dry to Orderville All anchors solid The mud over...
I'd wondered about these for years since seeing them on the National Geographic map, thanks for encouraging me to see them out - the glyphs are good but the view is super nice
Did this amazing canyon on 7/19 with group of 4, took 5 hours This canyon has a bit of everything The descent into canyon is quite steep but just take it slow and your fine Some beta says you can access this canyon by hiking up from Weeping Rock trailhead, apparently that trail has been closed indefinitely according to ranger at permit desk I think at this point the only option is the two cars with leaving one at visitor center then shuttle up to Eat Mesa trailhead through Ponderosa Ranch access We did this very th...
2/19/2021, Ran Lost and Found with a group of 4 confident climbers/canyoneerers and 2 folks more fresh to the sport Enjoyed the canyon but it was really far out of the way for what you get Would I run it again Probably not unless I was already in that area of Moab, probably Anchors were good with all webbing and quicklinks in good condition My two cents about the climbers exit: very manageable if you have a confident climber in the group AND conditions are dry I was very stressed going into it I personally don’t ha...
The crack was a savior for me, it was the only place that wasn't super sandy and offered solid jams stout down climb I though
Did this one on 12 July, swell time Swims were all super clean, nothing nasty Me and a newbie, 95°, no wetsuits, very comfortable About 6 hours car to car
