Comment on Pandora's Box - Capitol Reef
My last visit waypoints were spot on and was cairned, but I would hate to try and do that exit in the dark or hurrying to beat darkness!
Comment on Trail Canyon - Trachyte
2 people 25 hours car to car Avoided all water by stemming high at some points, 150lbs 5’10” definitely tight in a few sections Multiple pools that are holding water
Comment on Boulder Mail Trail - Escalante
We found big pools just down Mamie Creek from where the route crosses I would expect those to always have water Antone Flat has some small potholes with water on our visit, but as dry as it has been this year, I wouldn't count on them you can see one in the pics above, but it was pretty shallow and we visited not long after rain We camped in Mamie Creek one night which I though was a really great place to camp
Comment on North Fork of Iron Wash - San Rafael Swell
In a very fun mode Lots of water At 5'4" height, KPH was a swimmer for me Water level about 5' below the lip First man over, pretty skilled climber, climbed out with some effort Traverse line still there DCL Previous visit, KPH was dry and about 10' deep It's as beautiful and scenic as ever!
Comment on Stegosaur Slot - Capitol Reef
Group of 6 with varying experience took 45 hours for North Fork on 10/21, faster than expected Replaced the webbing on Rappel 1, it was starting to fray at the knot & anchor points There’s a second anchor placed for the short rappel that’s more accessible, but would create a much tougher pull Good introduction to narrows to see how people feel about them, everyone managed to avoid a few shallow pools

Thank you! Are there other 10-15 mile point-to-points in the Escalante region that you'd recommend for this time of year We went in March and did a lot of the main ones Peek-a-boo/Brimstone, Escalante River, etc

Coyote Gulch is really amazing If the roads are dry to get all the way out there, that is an excellent place to visit Lots of shallow wading, but do-able with neoprene socks or something else to keep your feet warm About 20 miles, so a bit longer than you are asking for, but goes by very fast I thought https://wwwroadtripryancom/go/t/utah/escalante/coyote-gulch Good luck, stay warm wherever you end up!
Comment on Tree of Life - Eastern Swell
Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out next time I am down We looked briefly for a trail up on our visit, but cold wind deterred us from too much poking around
Comment on Fremont Indian State Park - Sevier Valley
I agree that it’s an underrated area It’s full of rich history, fun for all ages, longer hikes as well as shorter hikes We’ve driven past it many times, SO GLAD we stopped to visit!
Comment on Crystal Geyser - Green River
2023 might be a great time to visit Per the Utah Division of Water Resources:--------------Crystal Geyser in Grand County is erupting! Our division geologist monitors this site and hasn't seen an eruption in years, but this year, the wet winter might have caused the water table to rise, resulting in the CO2 gas that powers the eruptions to push the higher level water through the borehole pipe
