Make sure to stop and visit the Golden Spike National Monument which is on the way to the Spiral Jetty They have a nice visitor center there to peruse, and starting the first Saturday in May, Golden Spike National Historic Site hosts Re-enactments of the Driving of the Last Spike Site ceremony on Saturdays and holidays through the middle of September Great family activity and fun for the history buffs in the family!

Yeah I was frustrated and came upon this site These two factors IMO Internet and the state of Utah promoting the Grand Circle 95 % of people stick to hwy 12 That is the problem here as this site is close Nobody should be promoting rock art in the first place

The camp was totally clean for us There are signs all over saying to pack out trash and human waste if the site is to stay open Maybe they recently did a clean up and posted signs I'm not sure, this was the first time for me I had my van with a cassette toilet, so it wasn't an issue for me, but if you're planning on staying make sure you bring a system to pack out your waste Also, 5 miles south of the site there is a dumpster and vault toilet that people seemed to be driving to in the morning to do their dutie...
