If you've never hiked it before, Hike it. I love this hike.
We completed this short canyon with a group of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids ages 7-11. Had fun squeezing up the canyon and then chose poorly on our way back down from the north rim, had to do some sticky shoe downclimbing on smooth sandstone that made some of the group uncomfortable, but we made it without any issues.
this was a long miserable day. We hiked this canyon and came up trail canyon with three kids ages 6, 8, and 10 and two dogs on a very hot day. we all ran out of water with two miles to go. Maidenwater was beautiful, but the hike out going up trail canyon was terrible. trail canyon was nothing but ankle breaking river rocks for miles. we hated it.
