Ran the West fork with Jared S, Bryce, and Eduardo. It was a nice little beginner canyon and a great Friday night warm-up before doing some canyons on Saturday. It was completely dry with a short approach and exit. It took us 2 hours car to car (Bryce set up a shuttle for us using his e-bike).

West Fork: a couple big pools with a high stem. Beautiful rappels with a fun section of tight down climbing. A fun playful canyon. Brought a 2nd time canyoneer down and she was only stumped by the high stem.

Did the west fork with Emily. Rappels weren’t anything special. The 5.6 down climb seemed easy. The slot was angled and awkward. It got deep and dark which was pretty cool.

DK, LZ 2-3 hours

Did this canyon with Tammy Berrie, Ron Bauer, Chris Welsh, Chris McPhie, Sri Rangarajan, Brian Reishl, Mark Chamberlin and Tom Neefe. It was mostly dry with easy to avoid water. Anchors were in good condition. I thought the west fork was nicer than the east fork with a nice, dark section at the end. Not too narrow, but there are some draggy spots.

Little Blue John. Beautiful. Anchors were in good condition.

10/03/2021
Did both forks with Natalie. The rain from previous days made it slippery and we got bruised up.

Did west fork only

10/17/2020
Static permanent rope on the third rappel use it. The exit hike was almost the best part about it. The rappers were a bit awkward.

05/18/2020 - We did the East/Main Fork. This canyon was an unexpected long day. The narrow parts of the slots are very physical. It is very tight at knee and foot level which makes it a challenge. Also lots of wedging and down climbing. The first couple rappels were incredibly awkward but exposed enough at the bottom that I'm glad we rappelled and didn't down climb. I really had a good time and appreciated the challenge of all the climbing. We only experienced water at the final rappel before the canyon opens up. Water was crotch deep. The rest of the canyon is a desert oasis. We saw lots of little toads and blooming flowers and cacti. Reminded me of the Paria Canyon......huge canyon walls all around. Car to car was 5.5 hours with only two people. This canyon is pretty slow going even though it is short mileage wise......I imagine it would take much longer with a larger group.

3rd rap, first anchor will stick rope on chockstone just below. Quite a bit of stemming

05/05/2018
First one with some standing water but we didn't put on wet suits. I stayed dry longer than most (stemming!)

First obstacle was difficult, but after that it was incredible (Done with Jocelyn)

Did the East Fork with a group of 4 people. ~5hrs without the car shuttle. It had rained the day before so the pools were bigger. The pool at the bottom of the last rappel was neck deep on the only person in our party that went in.

Was supposed to be start of 6 days in the Roost but with poor weather conditions threatening we drove in did the East Fork and then retreated to sealed roads and small catchments in North Wash. More squeezier than I was expecting. Abseils quite awkward.

Went with Katie. Got lost on exit and had to free climb out? ...Missed horse trail. Seems to be an easier exit we missed.

04/08/2017
