upper, upper thigh deep wades. disgusting mud. walked past the camp-site only realised when got to the confluence.

Went down 2.8 Mile wash, up Cathedral

Entered upstream of the bridge. Faffed about with the first couple of downclimbs but eventually got down - should have warn more clothes!

pool below R2. Nice enough

1st rap start tricky (could bypass?). some nice deep sections

party of 7. 11:15am-5:30pm? very slow setting the raps checking the anchors. did 5 raps + I meat-anchored one for about half the party.

great fun. completely dry. we did 3 raps? numerous downclimbs

Wet, wet and stinky. 2 x waist deep wades in Forgotten. two swims in Eagle. all stinky. plus other lower pools. we managed to avoid the final disgusting stew narrows by rim walking and jumping across canyon. Other than that a great day!

good. made the mistake of trying to go cross country instead of following notes - so much crypto to avoid. wet feet at base of r3

did it twice I liked it so much - left my nalgene at lunch spot.

rumbling thunder on approach had us a bit nervous but figured short narrows. very pretty. had lunch below at picnic tables where it did rain and was quite unpleasant by the time we were ready to walk out

nice hike, more shade than I expected

views all the way along

103 when we left car at 4pm (Utah time). limestone was slippery. good way to break up trip from lv to Zion.

Were hoping to do Cheesebix but reading reports on the road conditions didn't make me think it likely. Drove out and parked at top of Soldiers Crossing then walked down before committing the car. Sadly the crossing of White Canyon was a no go for us. Don't think our Subaru AWD at home (rather than our hire car!) would have made it either. Had to settle on Fry instead. Next trip!

About 80 yard swim with 2 spots to stop and stand. Water cold, we made if without wetsuits but very glad for the sun at the end!

Went down Little Blue John which was beautiful and then ascended the Main Fork which was hard work (but fun!). Glad the two groups we met descending the main fork were after we'd finished ascending! Not much room for passing! Also amused that they both asked us if they were in Main Fork. One 20m pool in the Main Fork about thigh deep. Doesn't look like it is going anywhere soon.

Had hoped to do Not Mindbender but the migrating sand dunes were too much for our car. So Larry was the backup option. Wonderful day even without a car shuttle. Wading to thigh deep.

After letting the weather blow through for a couple of days we were back in the Roost. This was a fun casual day out. We enjoyed being able to appreciate the canyon formations from a slightly wider narrows. Took the short exit after abseiling down and jugging back up the final section.

Fun trip but not particularly impressive canyon. At (what retrospectively we decided was) the 4th rap Tom convinced me to downclimb the chute against my better judgment . Ended up havinbb to get a rope rapidly deployed so i could have a somewhat controlled slide into chest deep water. Tom then downclimbed the route i should have taken, going high initially. Not sure what is normally used as the anchor we didn't look particularly hard but nothing obvious.

Lots of obstacles kept this canyon interesting. Fun day out even if a bit more water than we'd hoped for (chest deep? In the semikeeper)

Bitterly cold day. Finally extracted ourselves from fire to go do Hog 2. Parked at Hog Springs and went up the shortcut exit. Didn't find anything close to a 40m abseil. Our longest was about 15m. Great day in the end despite some lost hardware in the final chute.

Was supposed to be start of 6 days in the Roost but with poor weather conditions threatening we drove in did the East Fork and then retreated to sealed roads and small catchments in North Wash. More squeezier than I was expecting. Abseils quite awkward.

Had the permit, lugging the rope... made it to the tunnel when an almighty electrical storm hit. Decided safety was in our best interests and hightailed it back to the car. So no Bighorn/Dragonfly for us.

Good activity for a few hours in the morning.

Fun picking our own way through, had no idea there were arrows jntil we found about 10 other people looking lost as they couldn't find the next arrow!

Awesome day, favorite of the trip so far. Waist deep wades in Upper Chute - cold water! Road in was a bit stressful In the hire car!!

One tricky section for the 2wd on the Old Sheffield Road on the way in. Fun day, the ascending slot was great. Had to use rope once for pack hauling for the hardest upclimb.

8.5 hours car to car including over an hour for lunch at the Golden Cathedral. A little confused when we ascended out of canyon as the track didn't match the description seemed to be a more direct way up. Entered at north fork, 2 hours to do the canyon section. Plenty of water.

Technical section had a lot of water. Neck deep for my 6ft 1 partner assisting me out of the first pothole. Very muddy whole way through.

Decided we couldn't be bothered getting up super early to drive out to Boundary so went with instead! Quite a few other groups but we were last to leave the cars and first back even with a adding in a bonus slot near the exit.

Did with Dead Eye Dick. Fun little slot.

Only had one car so parked at Chamberlain Ranch and ascended to DeadEye Dick per BlueGnome notes. Fun day coupled with Mighty Mouse.

Great start to 4 week canyoning trip to helpnys get over our jet lag!
