Went with Isaac. Started from the car at 9AM and finished by 4:40 PM. Weather was mostly overcast and cool in the upper 50's, low 60's. Only a trickle of water going down Boundary, we were able to do it without the wetsuits although we packed them. Part way down Kolob Creek we had an unavoidable swim and it looked really cold so we put the wetsuits on and kept them on until the MIA Exit. We overshot the MIA by a little bit, missed an obvious cairn for the exit and had to back track. The MIA really was steep. Once we got to the dirt road it was waayyyy longer than I had expected to make the return trip back to the cars. Getting to the start also took some navigation since there is no obvious trail from the top to the start of Boundary. I had loaded someone's GPX route into GAIA which saved us. Car to first rap: 1 hr 1 st rap to Kolob Creek: 2 hrs Kolob Creek: 1 hr 30 min Kolob Creek to MIA Rd: 30 min MIA Rd back to cars: 1 hr 10 min Plus an hour of breaks and not moving. 6 hr 30 min moving, 7 hr 30 min total.

Took Isaac Kunz - took us 1 hr 54 min car to car. Really dry through the canyon. But the stream and waterfalls at the bottom were flowing better than I've ever seen.

Went with Isaac Kunz and met up with Mike Spens and his 4 brothers. Made things a bit long and tedious waiting for everyone to do all the things. My 2nd time in and missed the main rap AGAIN!!! Figured it out on maps and next time will do things differently. Quite a bit more water than last time getting up to my shoulders in one spot. Other water sections were waist deep and below. Took 1 hr 48 min to complete.

Bryce and I hit this. Wasn't sure how to get to the start of the first rappel so overshot the scramble. 1.5 miles RT took an hour and a half. Minimal water, but slick and mossy. My CRITR hooked my Apple Watch band and ripped it off my wrist and it fell to its death. :(

Went with Bek, Gavin and Kate. 2 hr 40 min.

I took Seth and his friend Parker. No one there. No flowing water in the canyon. One anchor webbing looked just about cooked. Could use a replacement. I should bring extra webbing with me. Took the 3 of us 1 hr 44 minutes.

Saturday afternoon - just Kate and me. No one else there. Nice and quiet. A little bit of water - could stem over some, got wet in others. Took us under 1 hr 30 minutes car to car. I'm wondering if we somehow missed the biggest rappel.

Full canyon with team of 5. 2-3 swims plus one spot waist deep water. We were the first group in, heard a group behind us but they didn't catch up. The berries are coming in but not ready for picking yet - pretty tart.

6 of us including me, Justin and Gavin, plus Ryan and Logan Madsen and Logan's friend Carter. Low water with only one swim on the second rap. Even the last big rappel which normally holds a lot of water that you need to swim was ankle deep. Time was 6 hrs 7 min round trip.

I took Kate, Justin and Gavin. Nice weather for March with temps in the 80's. A few swimmers but not terrible. We wore 3/2 wetsuits. Took 3 hr 32 min from start to the end on the highway. We made the mistake at a junction on the exit that took us to the upper switchback rather than the 2nd switchback. I thumbed a ride back which took no longer than 10 min to find someone to drive me up there.

Networking with Allies. Fun group, only did 2/3s of the canyon or half....Anyway, that took a long time but was super fun. Total time 5 hrs 19 min. Did this again on 8/16/2025 and did the full canyon, watch died but took about 6 hours 53 min.

Ooof - I took Bek and she was nervous going just the 2 of us. I thought there would be extra groups in the canyon as usual and none were there. I stuck the rope on 2nd or 3rd to last rap, and cut the rope with a rock an donated 30' of my 250' rope to the canyon. We finished out and took the wild wind exit back up. Total time 5 hrs 8 min. Long one.

Bek and I had a great time together logging 18.5 miles, 4,600' elevation gain. Big day. Went up west rim to completed the loop, back down to Lodge then to Emerald Pools.

Quiet, steep in spots, a little scrambling near the top, beware rattlesnakes in the cracks when scrambling.

I took Kate, Ryan Madsen, Kyle Oswald and John Wirthlin. Total move time was 4 hrs 10 min. Started around 3PM and finished approx 8:20PM and it was pretty dark. We decided to do Wife #5 first then Wife #3. We can see why people do #3 first and leave their rope rigged and retrieve it later since pulling it was super difficult even though we got it done. The 200' rap in Wide #3 was incredible. Getting into Wife #5 was challenging with some downclimbing. This may have taken us longer than usual since we were rout finding and trying to determine where the head of each canyon was. The GAIA map on the phone proved it's weight in gold and took a lot of the guess work out. Wife #5 had a few pockets of water just over knee deep.

I took Kate, Ryan Madsen, Kyle Oswald and John Wirthlin. Waited 1 hour at the arch to rig the anchor and descend. Started at 9:42 AM finished around 2PM. 2.5 hours moving time but over 4 hours total trip. Strava: https://www.strava.com/activities/11182629000

Took Bryce Perkins - first time for him. We were fast on this one. 1 hr 29 min. Half an hour faster than previous sends.

Pferdners plus Ethan - Subway on the day of the eclipse. Didn't see anyone in the canyon which was wild! Perfect weather. Had wetsuits this time, but even at that, Bekah was hypothermic and it was a scary ordeal towards the end of the raps and water section. Made it out OK. I hitched a ride quickly to get the car. Fun day. Total time 7 hrs 55 min. Full 2 hours faster than the first time I ran this.

Just a quick trip with Kate. Took the Wild Wind Exit back. Total trip time 3 hrs 48 min.

Kate, Justin and Ryan Madsen. 7 hr 55 min total time.

Ran with Kate, Justin and Ryan Madsen. Ryan's phone fell out of his pocket on a rap and exploded when it hit the rocks, RIP. My first time up Wild Wind Exit, and I got lost and schwacked, while Justin, Kate and Ryan hiked the road. I retrieved the car and picked them up. Total time with exit hike: 4 hrs 23 min.

Fun with Kate, Justin and Ryan. Total time 2 hrs 2 min. This canyon has some interesting lips but always a good time.

Took Bekah and Anne - kinda first canyoneering for them but they did great. Total time 2 hrs 21 min.

Shutled cars with Ryan Madsen and his friends; I did not know them. 3 hrs 20 min plus time to shuttle.

Took the fam up the canyon after backpacking to the Double Arch Alcove - someone was playing the violin, fun acoustics. Total time 2 hrs 36 min.

Seth, Ryan and Logan Madsen - Both Seth and Logan were 14yrs old. They were awesome. 9 hrs 56 min. Long day but amazing to be with them.

First canyoneering trip with Seth, Logan and Ryan Madsen. Used and needed wet suits. For 14 yr olds, they did great. 5 hrs 17 min. Seemed long for a short'ish canyon. We hitched back to the car.

Day after Thanksgiving. What a mess on Angels Landing before permits were a thing. Had to play traffic cop on the chains, more people than I've ever seen up there. Took Pfam, Bek/Gav/Eli stayed, Justin/Kate/Seth/Anne and I went to the top. Great weather. Also hiked Emeral Pools.

Kate and I got an invite to do Subway with Ryan Atkinson, his wife and another couple. None of them knew what they were doing or getting themselves into. I belayed them off every rap, Kate tied their figure eights. Total time 9 hrs 40 min!! I had the sense it would be a bit and packed a headlamp, good thing since we finished up the exit in the dark around 10 PM. Shuttled cars and back to St George around midnight. Long day, but a pretty time of year for the Subway. Moms had wetsuits. Guys plus Kate did not. We were borderline hypothermic at one point but made it out ok.
