Group of 5 with experience ranging from low to very high. Two had done the canyon years ago. Water was flowing steadily through the entire canyon from runoff. No active weather systems anywhere near or up drainage. Camped on the river at the lower part of White Canyon and watched river level over a 16-hour period. No significant change. The weather was perfect in the low 80's. The canyon is survivable but ABSOLUTELY NOT recommended with flowing water. Some blockages in the Black Hole section could be very challenging to negotiate (or non-negotiable) depending on water levels or future ff debris. Started at 10:30 am and returned to the vehicle at 4:30 pm. All of us were in wet suits and neoprene socks. We carried two lengths of rope that we never used, 25' and 50'. The running water made the entry and exit parts before and after the Black Hole significantly different than doing the canyon dry. After moving into White Canyon but before the Black Hole, returning would have been challenging but doable with the size of our party and the ropes we carried. We wore our wet suits to some level from the moment we got into White Canyon till the moment we ascended out of the canyon. An epic adventure with some lessons learned.

WARNING: Initial pool is filled with pee that emptied from Mats flubby and chubby wetsuit ankles. Extreme fun is to be had throughout the canyon and no pack toss was needed due to easy jump or climb to advance past the obstacle. Liams first canyon and I think it did not disappoint especially after him and Mat went through the special hole slide drop at the first pool. Beware sounds of Lankum as to descend into the horrors that await or simply stay on the surface and take a swim at lake Powel.

Loved this canyon! Great approach, great exit, and beautiful rock. Jamin did the entire canyon sans wetsuit, everyone else had theirs on. The entrance carved into the sandstone floor is so rad, and the long dark swim is very memorable. Will definitely do again. Team: Dylan, Todd, Megan, Jamin, Kyle.
