Did this fork on Saturday with Erik, Christian, and Canyon Colby. Down climbed early sections which had some webbing but I was able to get down without using. Canyon got pretty narrow in some parts, but not as slim as Chambers. I was rope muling which added to the physicality, lots of narrow grunt sections that took plenty of effort. Passed a family just under halfway down that seemed to be having a hard time. We were worried they wouldn't make it out before dark but saw them when we were drinking beer at the exit. Completed in a leisurely 4 hours with a few extended rests. Christian, in typical form was the only one that managed to circumvent the knee deep pools and remain dry. Cathedral at bottom wasn't quite as breathtaking as it lived in my memory but still beautiful. I asked the group to stop there for snacks so I could enjoy. Met Josh from Thailand, who owns a climbing shop and develops routes in Chiang Mai, at the exit.

Erik and I did this canyon. Scariest Iand most dangerous I have ever done. High exposed stemming, at times in a full bridge. The crux was the series of potholes/silos at the end of the canyon. I led the "black raven" silo, getting my left foot on the opposing ledge before stepping my right foot back to the comfortable shelf on the right side, looking down canyon. Erik had me on belay for this. Shortly after, we dropped down into a subsequent pothole at my urging. The stemming afterward was very high, and seemed to widen out to impassable levels. I'm not sure if we were too high in this section or what, but I didn't see a comfortable way too pass by following the beta's suggestion of stemming over everything. Erik did some impressive climbing and parkour moves to surpass the remaining 2 potholes, while I lead and set up a successful pack toss that I used to get through. Canyon finished uneventfully, and I saw an owl with its dead mouse inside one of the potholes.

SEMI EXPERIENCED CANYONEERS. Down climbed the whole thing this time!! Erik, Steve, Jule, and myself. Gotten some more confidence with the "controlled slides," although the third downclimb was pretty hard impact on the opposite wall. Flew through in a couple hours, really enjoyable overall.

Very cool canyon, especially for being non technical. Some very sustained narrow slots, with some neat corkscrewing sections. Last section was quite narrow, Steve had a hard time getting through! Eric, Jule, Steve and myself on this one. Pretty long exit hike.

Looooots of hiking through sand for not a lot of canyon. Exit was brutal in the heat. The Moki exit got my blood pumping a bit, but wasn't too bad. This canyon inspired me to buy 65m of Canyon Pro because I'm pretty weary of slogging that heavy ass 65m rope through slots.

Did with Lauren, Dave, Coop dog, Clint, Niels, and Maizy. Fun canyon! First I've done in Poison Springs. Hellacious drive in and my car needed to be towed through the sand whoop halfpipe. Whole group downclimbed entire canyon after entry rappel, with me leading a good chunk of it. Spots required, but nothing too high consequence. Really fun!

Super fun canyon! Much better than the 3 stars would suggest. No ropes needed, but glad we brought some webbing. Mat, Erik, Evan, and I. This was harder than expected; two difficult down climbs, the second of which I used a handline off of Mat because it got wide down low. The climb between the two was also kinda tough. Really great high stemming after, and one silo section that was a little spooky. We exited the canyon right as the full moon was rising over the rock formations far in the distance. Absolutely beautiful. Threw rocks over the edge as it got dark. Sketchy beautiful moonlit hike across cliffs back to camp.

Fun canyon, easier than expected. Mat almost stepped on a rattlesnake after a down climb, it was the biggest one I've ever seen, and you could really hear the rattle. Some cool down climbs, did the reverse belly slide down one. I did my first meat anchor on the first rappel! Mat, Evan, and Erik all rappelled off of my meat on the first rapp. "Keepers" were dry, and hardly actual keepers, getting out was no problem. Cool parkour spiral staircase on last downclimb. Lovely picnic in idyllic orchard at the bottom. Neat cow skull with toupé on exit hike.

Nice canyon with fun approach. Went with Erik, Lauren, Colby, and Jule. Found the trail no problem from when Eric and I had done Nighthawk. Some fun downclimbing problems that we meat anchored Lauren down. Beautiful final rappel to the canyon floor.

Pretty boring canyon. Not much stemming or down climbing.

Basic, short canyon. Not a lot of stemming or climbing involved. Finished in a little under two hours with Lauren. Didn't manage to avoid the pool at the end! Walls were very slippery.

Really fun!! Much better than the star rating would suggest. Finished with Lauren in about an hour and a half, our last canyon of the trip. Some easy fun stemming, and a couple of good upclimbs. The last Crux upclimb is great, vertical stemming up a chute. The downclimbs into the exit canyon are also great! Pretty challenging if you stay in the main drainage instead of going off to the side

Lauren's first canyon! Just the two of us out here for the weekend. We did the South fork. Pretty middle of the road kinda canyon, but had plenty of rappels for Lauren to learn and get comfortable on. Some cool downclimbs as well. We skinny dipped in the Dirty Devil afterwards, that river never gets up to your waist, it seems. Bit of a torturous exit out, got off route somehow and ended up back in the South fork and did a sketchy upclimb to exit. Had a long siesta during the worst heat. Lauren slept, I read Testimony on a blanket in a patch of shade we hiked down to, which I later realized was the top of North Fork of Angel Cove! We downclimbed about 1/3 of the way, then ascended using the fixed lines for the base jumpers. Very fun, highlight of the day.

GREAT short canyon off the side of the road where I camped. I really enjoyed the route finding to the entrance. Scrambling up the slab and traversing around the cliff band was a blast. The canyon itself was really pretty. Lots of dead man rappelling. The arch in the middle was nuts! Took me completely by surprise. Stayed mostly dry on the way down, weird rappel-stemming over pools.

Long slog in from the Hog Springs Rest Area trailhead. Just a half hour to the springs, but at least two additional hours to get to the top of Hog 1. Probably closer to 3 hours. Getting better at route finding, though still doing plenty of turnarounds and false routes. The Exit Gully was the worst slog of all, my foot and ankle felt ready to explode. Bring on surgery #2. Canyon itself was nice, I think I was in too much discomfort, dehydration, and fatigue to really enjoy it. Also with the anxiety of wanting to get back to the springs with enough time to enjoy them. Which luckily I did.

Hardly a slot canyon rather than a hike with 2 rappels at the bottom. That being said it was very pretty. Did this one solo. Had to swim for about 15 feet before the final rappel. Cold water and it was after 8, sun going down. Set up my first ever bag toss for a keeper, but in reverse. Had my pack with the rope cloved to the binder rack set up in a crevace on top of the pothole. Left my bag there to check out the anchor in case it was bad and I needed to retreat. Hand over hand back out of the pool worked like a charm with a good amount of effort. Approach instructions proved vague as usual. also began up the exit first by mistake which burned 20 minutes. about 3 hours true time. Absolutely stunning eastern sky on the exit, perfect gradient of blue to pink to orange. Saw a frog at camp. ð¸

Wow. One of the most spectacular rappels I've done. From the dead log, my 65 meter rope made it down with feet to spare. Beautiful carved vertical chute all the way down to a ledge above an ice cold pool about 35 feet across. Keeper pothole was full, swam right over. Lots of pools and wading, and some beautiful twisted high stemming over the initial narrows. saw my first canyon frog in a pool further down canyon. bit of a heinous route find on the exit. lots of backtracking, sketchy climbing up slab, bonus rappels, etc.

THAT'S A BIG RAPPEL. First ever 300ish foot rapp. Sidney and I tied her 60m dynamic climbing rope to my 110 ft rope and passed the knot most of the way down. Beautiful. A lot of wading through pools up to waist deep, and I held my first frog in a pothole!

Fuck those down climbs! Rappeled everything because it was wet and muddy and sketchy even when dry. A man who hath pride stands to be wounded. Did this one with Sidney in the morning, just the two of us. Our first canyon!! Practiced passing a knot on rappel at the drop in. Really pretty slickrock exit with large boulders strewn around that had dropped from the rim.

Is this the Grim Crawl? Canyon is approximately 10 times longer than you think it is. Most sustained and narrow stemming I've yet done. About as narrow as Chambers at it's most narrow, had to exhale to pass. Long slog climb to exit. Grim Crawl room was beautiful, as was the view from the final two rappels, enormous shear walls, narrow, opening up into a green expanse.

Always bring 2 lengths of webbing. :) Lots of fun stemming, last section high up and over some silos. Mat and I got stuck in the exit on a slabby death section, and had to be rescued by Erik with two lengths of webbing around a rock as a hand line.
