Cat and I completed this route today, 5/14/2026. This was our 2nd solo route and it went pretty well. The down climbing, and assisted climbing sections were definitely new challenges for us and we could use some practice, but we managed. Cat was a meat anchor for the first pot hole, then I team assisted her into the hole. The first rappel wasn't bad, we probably could have stayed on rappel for the 2nd down climb after the main rappel, but the down climb was fine. The last pool was pretty deep, I started off in the middle with my bag over my head, and stepped off into deep water, it kind of freaked me out. I then rushed back to the shore. Then I scouted the pool, accross the middle was a swim, the left side at least felt like a swim, and I half ass checked the right. This left me concerened because swimming with my heavy bag didn't sound great. I then swam the rope across and then back. Then checked the far right side, and was able to tip toe accross right by the rock wall with my head above water. I was able to do this with my bag, then go back into help Cat. By the time I was done I was freezing, the water was pretty dang cold. It took a while to warm back up even though it was 70 or 80 degrees outside of the canyon, but the sun had set some. We did the last repel from the 2nd station on the right side. There were significant grooves in this area, but it was a straight forward rappel. Cat went first, I went 2nd. Great day, hope I didn't swallow to much water. Took us right around 3 hours.
"dry canyon" they said. "no swimming" they said.
Did with Isabella. Ascended the second to last rappel as we couldn't inspect the final rock pile anchor. Rappelled down another tree.
Hot, hot. Went in the afternoon, the canyon was bone dry. No water to be found anywhere. Did the alternate rappel on the last rap as there was a tour group ahead of us.
With Mike & Kim. Full potholes!
Hip deep
Explored this canyon, found a guide group ahead of us. Guides name is Simon. Met Hal and Arlene from Boston, Mass. and their two sons. Arlene jumped in the first pothole into wet sand and dislocated her patella. Built a haul system to lift Arlene from the pothole, my first in wilderness rescue! Afterwards, we continued down the canyon. pool at the end was very cool and refreshing.
Walked the route, found an alternate rappel for the last rap - cleaner pull than the last 2-stage drop. Water was chest deep and cold.
J & F, Seatons. Date approximate. No wetsuits needed. Most of the raps can be downclimbed.
family trip
Pretty and sweet.
very underwhelming. wetsuit not needed
F & J. Canât recall actual date, but it must have been around Thanksgiving since we were still working at Sagehen. Used drysuits, but that was overkill. Fixed rope in place at first mandatory rappel.
**2-4 Hours
estimated date
1st canyoneering adventure!
With JJ, Alexi. Definitely worth the side trip up canyon at the top. Make sure to jump in the last huge pothole!
approx. date. lots of rope in canyon
Fun, close to Moab, pretty wet the second time I did it. Going up canyon is really fun too.
