Approach was rough. Got fairly dehydrated. Took almost four hours from Fence to canyon bottom. From there took 7.5 hours to final rappel. Water levels very low - didn't need wetsuit until grim section. Happy section was lovely, and there were a few other outstanding parts. Grim section was terrifying - all of a sudden started raining when we were in the depths of the narrows. Took shelter on small ledges just 10 or 15 feet above watercourse for 45 minutes, and thank goodness rain was brief and low volume - no raised water levels made it down to us. Might've been challenging yet enjoyable were we not scared sh!tless. After final rappel spent an hour organizing, filtering water, etc. then 2 hours back to camp. Lots of bushwhacking. Overall 14 hours round trip from Fence campsite.

Hiked in on the direct route, then stashed our overnight gear near the river since we were planning on doing Chop the next day. Maybe 2 hours down to river. Then maybe 1.5 hours up to canyon head. Some threatening weather appeared, so we took an hour nap waiting for it to clear up before entering canyon. Canyon was extremely dry - no wetsuits were necessary. Maybe two spots were at least on person needs to get wet. Last rappel is classic. Afterwards filtered H20 from pool at last rap since the river was murky, then headed up to Fence Canyon campsite, which took around 1 - 1.5hr with some bushwhacking. Whole day was around 10 hours total.

Eh. Panels were cool and there were couple nice spots, but really not worth the trouble in my opinion.

Some menacing haze made it less enjoyable, but otherwise great! Fun, long rappels. No water.

Great little canyon. Some of the bushwhacking was horrible, and for that reason most people in the group might rate it slightly lower. The downclimbs were fun, though, and the water features were enjoyable too, particularly the slide into the final pothole at the Maidenwater confluence.

Fun, short canyon. First rap can be skipped with a partner assist.

Did all but Hog 3 over two days. A bit nippy in the shadows in December, but fortunately all water was avoidable. Hog 1 tighter/squeezier then we were expecting but still a lot of fun. 4 or 2 were our favorites.

Great canyon. Did not psychologically prepare ourselves for rappelling through the waterfall in November. :) Path in narrow part of canyon was cut off by a rattlesnake, which was quite stressful and required some creativity.

Excellent canyon! Several knee to waist deep pools, with one chest deep that could tenuously be stemmed or avoided with a Tyrolean.

Short but sweet!

Fun canyon, with a lengthy approach. Water levels were pretty low which probably made it a bit less fun than it could've been.

First big pothole canyon. Water seemed pretty low. Most party members did not use wetsuits.

Great canyon! Water level was high enough that second keeper was not a problem. First rap webbing in great condition. Didn't find any webbing for second rap and didn't want to leave any, so final person butt-slid then jumped 8 feet into pool after first two people confirmed that it was more than deep enough.

A fun canyon! Lots of swimming and wading.

Did preferred route. Rappel from ledge was under 100'.

Weather took a sudden turn as we approached the slots, which was quite stressful. Otherwise this was a fun one.

Tons of fun, though the ascent out had a few sketchy exposed sections that in my opinion are class 5.

Took three hours due to some route-finding errors and getting stuck behind a large commercial group. WARNING: A large rope groove with a very sharp edge has formed at the rappel. It took a huge core shot out of the rope for the group in front of us. Be very careful about making sure your rope does not end up in that particular groove or bring a means to protect that section of the rope.

Right fork.

Left fork. Very dark and narrow at some points. Just one spot with water toward the very end when we went.

Left fork.

Outstanding! Had a little bit of trouble route finding near the beginning where a GPS device really helped us out.

Great. Road mostly 2WD accessible, though we did get stuck in the mud at one point.

Great short one. Road mostly 2WD accessible, though we did get stuck in the mud at one point.

Navigational errors led to an interesting outing, but it still was a great time. Loved the final rappel!

Phenomenal! Lots of crowds up to Angels Landing on July Fourth, but barely saw a soul after that.

Threatened by weather towards the end, but otherwise great. Traveling solo and quiet startled two herds of big horned sheep.

Very fun and beautiful canyon. NPS gave us some vague instructions/map telling us not to descend into the canyon at the usual location because they were having erosion problems there. We tried to comply with the instructions and spent about an hour bushwhacking until we were cliffed out. Eventually just backtracked and dropped in where the beta said. The round trip loss of two hours meant we were rappelling into the Narrows after dark, but it worked out ok.

This is probably the only canyon I've ever hated. Every surface was covered with a thin dust that made slipping and falling relentless and tiresome. Several rappels were into areas that had gathered unavoidable piles of sharp sticks on which you could impale yourself.

Crowded Memorial Day weekend, but still pretty rad. The simul-rap was fun. Climb out was harrowing and too exposed to make it worth it in my opinion. Would opt for hitching around in future.

Extremely hot day. Folks shooting guns in our general direction as we started the hike was a little disconcerting. Great little canyon + rappel.

Fun beginner outing.

Fun route finding back when the beta was more sparse! Think I used a scan of a hand drawn map.
