Me and Lydia. Great canyon. The climbing up the last rappel was sweet.
Ran the long route with Caylin, Beth, and Jared in 6.5 hours. There always no water and all the anchors were intact. We found the shortcut after the crack route exit to join up with the short exit trail. We should have shuttled the road section in hindsight. It was a long sandy walk at the beginning and end of the day.
Beautiful canyon! been on my list awhile. I would take parents through. great for beginners. super wide (doorway width) slots (no stemming) you could easily walk through. unlike any I've seen. Great rappels. very picturesque. My favorite part was the crack route out. The first spot is more of a face climb than a chimney. pretty easy. we belayed it from the top. very athletic getting out. don't take beginners that way. would have been best done with a car shuttle. we walked a LONG time on the road at the beginning and end. Don't take the long exit out. merge with the short exit escape toward the fence on the right. way shorter.
bday trip!
My birthday week. Robert, Susan, Tamara. Robert and Susan’s first technical canyon.
This is such a great canyon. It seemed shorter the second time around and I was a little disappointed it ended so soon. Felt like mostly hiking. One of the middle rappels is actually a little tricky to start so this might not be the best canyon for a rank beginner, but could probably make it work. Once again did the early exit.
Beautiful big chambers. Straightforward rappels and not much necessary stemming.

Lovely canyon! All the anchors were in good condition. I would definitely recommend doing the shortcut exit, though it is worth going down the final rap and re-ascending it if you are able. We were able to drive to the top of the "shortcut exit" with no unusual difficulty. A Subaru Outback made it too. There's a small side road going south-ish that might get even closer, but didn't investigate it.
Did this canyon with a large group - Tammy Berrie, Ron Bauer, Chris Welsh, Chris McPhie, Sri Rangarajan, Brian Reishl, Mark Chamberlin. Anchors were in good shape and the rappels were straight forward. This would be a good beginner canyon, but one rappel has an awkward start off a wedged overhanging boulder. We did the last rappel and ascended back for the short route, but not sure this was worth it as the narrows end soon after. Dry.
Great easy set up canyon. Shuttle very important!!! Not long repels make an easier out. Very Pretty and donât need elbow or knee pads. The 75 two stage is 50 feet. Good beginner canyon!
What a gem, so beautiful. Not technically hard, just some light climbing/scrambling. Took the early exit and skipped the last rappel. Hikes were pretty quick. Took about 4 hours with one really long 45 min snack break. Stopped a lot for pictures and to admire.
First canyon in Robbers Roost. With Jake, Sue & Carrie
date is a guess. I think we dogs this with Brian and Rob?. hiked endlessly
Great beginner canyon
Avoidable water/mud after recent rains. Straightforward
Great canyon, long approach and exit that can be really hot in the afternoon.

After letting the weather blow through for a couple of days we were back in the Roost. This was a fun casual day out. We enjoyed being able to appreciate the canyon formations from a slightly wider narrows. Took the short exit after abseiling down and jugging back up the final section.
Super fun and easy. Would do again with beginners.
