Great!
West Fork
5/24/25 #conditions Did this hike/canyon (west fork) on Saturday 5/25/25 with a group of 8 (holiday weekend) right after doing Cassidy Arch. Hike/approach was scenic but a bit longer than I thought it would be. The canyon was a bit busy with 2 very large groups ahead of us (2 groups of 18 people each) who fortunately let us pass through. The bolts/anchors were in good condition, but the webbing is starting to show some wear and will need to be replaced in the next month or two. The technical section (no water) was short but sweet. 5 rappels with a 100' rappel at the end.
Lots of easy raps and beautiful hike
With 12 Young Men and 3 more adults. Big group. About 2 feet of snow.
My birthday week. Robert, Susan, Tamara. Did West Fork.
Camped at the closed camp sight. Awesome canyon!
Girls trip
Fun, beautiful and dog-friendly. This was a great warm-up to four days of canyoneering in Capitol Reef.
Did Sunglow east. Hit ice as all of the spring and stream were frozen.
With the Golds
Went back to retrieve the rope. Took 2 of us about 2 hours total.
Got a late start and moving slow with a couple of young kids. Then got a stuck rope on rap 2. Left rope behind and hiked completed last 2 raps in complete darkness (Not recommended). Still fun.
Great beginner canyon.
This makes for a great hike but not spectacular canyons. Works well for teaching first timers so not all bad.
lovely stroll to the top. it was really chilly. the 3rd rappell has a bit of an overhang but the rope anchors are well placed.
Loved these! Very beautiful, very accessible canyons that are perfect to learn in.
West Fork - Jason, Brad, Steve, Mom
worth bringing rope for canyon exit.
