Great time as always here. Lots of water after the storm. All but one rappel had water. The deepest was up to our chests.

Avoided water in potholes by skipping first three bolted anchors and rappelling 40-50' from tree into the canyon. Webbing with rapide and redundant cord around tree in decent shape. Very bad rope grooving in the rock. Five or six other short rappels, bolted with webbing and rapides. One other avoidable drop into water.

6/7/2023 - Great canyon! I ended up running through this canyon three times with various family members and we had a blast. We followed the GPX and clocked about 1.9 miles from car-to-car and it took two people to run through it about an hour and 45 minutes. There is water! Mostly shin to knee deep **however** the second rappel was about stomach deep and pretty much unavoidable for the first man down, but could then help others navigate around the water. We were able to climb/walk around a few optional rappels and downclimbs.

6/7/2023 - Great canyon! I ended up running through this 3 times with various family members and had a blast. Following the GPX we clocked about 1.95 miles round trip. There is water! Mostly shin to knee deep however after the second rappel the water was stomach to chest deep. This deeper spot was pretty much unavoidable for the first man down, however FMD could then help others navigate around the water. We scrambled around a few optional rappels and downclimbs and were back to the car in an hour + 45 minutes.

the approach and exit have a bit of deep sand that is annoying to hike in, and the exit is a bit steep, but it was a fun canyon with a bunch of short rappels

All five of us went, first time for the girls! There was a lot of water in potholes, some of it quite foul. We had to belay the girls up and out of the waterway between the first and second rappel because the pool at the bottom of the second was deep and disgusting. Sarah found out the hard way. There was a very easy walk-around for these. The second sequence of rappels could be started right in the drainage on good quality bolts or done from a few anchors a little down canyon on the right side. There was a huge party there using both anchors on the walls so we took the route down the middle, requiring wading through two shallow pools. We bailed after the canyon widened out before the start of the downstream slot section required an awkward start to a short rappel. It was a downclimb and up climb for Sarah but we decided the day had been a success for the girls and to call it at that point. The return hike from that point was probably a bit easier than it would have been from the end of the canyon.

Super fun and easy. Perfect for 1st timers. The slots in the last 1/3 of the canyon were super pleasant. There is an additional short canyon loop across the draw from the exit trail that was a lot of fun. Tight slots and steep chutes with one 50ft rappell that made the morning. The hike out is pretty short but a sandy climb.

We did the Huntress on Memorial Day 2022 with our daughter and a friend. Neither had any canyoneering experience, but had been on rappel a few times beforehand. The canyon is perfect for beginners with a skilled leader. We decided to rappel every drop we could for the learning experience, but many drops can be down climbed easier than setting up a rappel. The canyon is in good shape. The bolted anchors and webbing looked okay with some minor wear and weathering. The canyon was completely dry. A couple caught up with us about halfway through and it happens we both attended a canyoneering course from North Wash so we struck up an instant friendship. They talked about the little-known the side canyon mentioned in the beta. They waited for us at the bottom and showed us to the top. They called it The Hunted. It was a short canyon with some good down climbs and a couple of very nice rappels. There was only one stagnant pool and it was easily avoided. No further details here, but if you can find it, it's a great addition to doing the Huntress.

Decided we couldn't be bothered getting up super early to drive out to Boundary so went with instead! Quite a few other groups but we were last to leave the cars and first back even with a adding in a bonus slot near the exit.
