On Sunday, November 23, our group of seven descended Na-Gah Canyon and completed it car-to-car in three hours. The approach hike was super scenic, and we had great views of Cassidy Arch from across the Grand Wash and the surrounding area. After following Ryan’s beta to the head of the canyon, we did an optional approximately 50-foot rappel into the canyon and continued our descent. The rappel could probably have been bypassed DCR. We were surprised to find more downclimbs and another rappel before reaching the "official" start of the canyon and R1.The canyon was enjoyable, featuring some good downclimbs and rappels, including the final 165-foot drop. During our descent, we stemmed over a shallow pool of water but later rappelled directly into a pothole filled with thigh-deep water. All existing anchors and bolts were in good condition, and our group had no issues.
Started early at 9:15 am, finished by 12:15 pm. Some of the slots at the top of the canyon can be down climbed. They look a little sketchy but are doable. Very little water, beautiful long, last rappel off of bolts.

We were over the 1 hr to do the canyon, snow and a little slow on rope handling
Splendid! Tricky down climbs, awesome rappel at end, room for only one person at the anchor
Not family friendly harder than it sounds
The fun down climbing sections make this canyon a short but good one. If taking new or nervous canyoneers a handline/ rappel is easily set up for all the down climbs. We were planning on doing this in conjunction with Fern's Nipple but we were snowed out.
Fun canyon. Highly recommend the side trip to Fern's Nipple. It's a long strenuous hike, but very much worth it.
approx. date on way back from Saddlefest
One of my first canyons
approach was a bit confusing but pretty fun. Fun downclimbs and raps, some pretty sections, all around pretty great. dry except for a calf deep pool at the bottom of rap 2.
Nice canyon with fun approach. Went with Erik, Lauren, Colby, and Jule. Found the trail no problem from when Eric and I had done Nighthawk. Some fun downclimbing problems that we meat anchored Lauren down. Beautiful final rappel to the canyon floor.
