Nice average day but nothing stand-out that makes me eager to do again.
Went with Bence, Drew, Matt, Claire, and Wendy. Long trip to have 6 people. Multistage rappels, long slant section, and this time got the joy of wading through cow shit water.
Great canyon, long exit
Pretty decent romp, couple tight spots, some pretty spots. Exit is a bit of a slog, but the wash isn’t too sandy. The exit crack is potentially scary, and the top could be hard if there’s not a handline. Steep slickrock above that, too. Overall I would not take beginners in it, unless they have climbing/scrambling experience, mostly because of the exit.
Standard Larry exit was without a doubt the best way to go. The exit climb and walking around on the slickrock felt very remote

Sam, Tyler, Braden Rattlesnake Not a casual romp, long 8 hour day. Hot and exhausting. Advanced chimneys, multistage repels, spider cave and exhausting slanted sections.
Great slots. When you think you already done the slanted part, that slanted part starts. At the dark spot, it’s not as far down as you think. Maybe 15ish feet. Climb out is enjoyable but steep. Not as bad as Not Mindbender.
Good camping at end of road/full Larry exit. Epic views. Big flat area. Exposed to wind. Spot down below parking protected by wind for those tent camping.
Exciting initial downclimb into canyon. Moki steps were a little spicy but very secure. Christian, Nick Halverson, and myself on this trip. Nick's first true desert canyon. Series of fun downclimbs before the first rappel, approachable and interesting. Stayed dry the whole time despite the pool. After rappels canyon got more interesting, with small cathedrals and mini keepers, and then some great narrow sections. One spot had a slanted elevator downclimb into almost pitch black. Christian and I did an unnecessary R rated stem 15 to 20 feet off the deck. Shaky hands. Overall very pretty and varied canyon. Decent wash slog out to the exit, Ryan refers to cathedrals as "side canyons" so we missed some of the referenced landmarks. Eventually we got to the exit to the rim and slogged up. The crack up climb was very fun and engaging slab. Then a very long hot slog to the rim. We didn't do a shuttle car so it was a SLOG across the stinking desert to the car. We shortcutted the last bit of path, leaving the road to march across the flats. Made it there in the end. Bring a shuttle car next time.
Max, Noah, Jordan, Georgia, Montgomery. 9 hours in total. Lots of rappel practice
8 people , 9 hours. Two 200' ropes to leapfrog. Hot long exit . Cool canyon with tight spots.
The canyon contained about 4 more rappels than noted in the description. Took closer to 7 hours to complete. AWESOME canyon. Really glad to have the shuttle or it would have been a VERY long day with a group of 4. Carried a 70m and 100 ft. One rappels was definitely over 100 feet - glad to have the extra rope. Pay attention to the webbing and pulls. Hike out is 5th class and hard to see in sections, but really beautiful at sunset when we hit it.
Water to the knee all anchors good. The road was passable with small areas of route finding through rocks. Can be passed by most vehicles with little trouble or some rock stacking
Went with Kaden, Wan and Wilmer. Hot day, almost completely dry. The first mandatory rappel can be broken into 2 short rappels with a deadman halfway down. Took about 8 hours due to slots of breaks due to heat. Nice canyon!

Fun time! If you donât use car shuttle itâs a long hike bike
Did the full Larry and it was amazing. Lots of different canyoneering features and was dry all the way through with on pot hole that was easily avoidable.
Larry's might be my new favorite canyon! We started by leaving a car at the exit and walking back to the trailhead. This was a little over 5 miles and took 1.5 hours. Would have been much better with a car/bike shuttle. We were able to down climb most of the early drops, minus the first one which was suggested as a down climb and quickly ignored after seeing it. There are so many unique features here.....every section felt like a different canyon. There was a fair amount of climbing but all doable. The deep dark parts of the canyon are pretty special. We were lucky enough to find the entire canyon dry. The hike out was pretty long but enjoyable with the high canyon walls all around. Climbing out was no problem up the recommended crack exit. The canyon portion (not including car hike) took 6.5 hours, so 8 hours total.....what a long day!

Canyon was dry. Super fun!
Standard Larry w Nick & Matt. Great day.
Natalie, Dots, Pete, Rachel, Nick.
Went with Doug & Tom.
Fun canyon and beautiful. Pretty long day especially with some newer people.
Do the shuttle. Great Canyon! A few pools knee to waist deep depending on height of cold water.
did it sometime in 2018
Had hoped to do Not Mindbender but the migrating sand dunes were too much for our car. So Larry was the backup option. Wonderful day even without a car shuttle. Wading to thigh deep.
8.5 hrs with bike shuttle (Dan)
A great canyon with lots of variety. We did not have a second car to shuttle and had to walk 5.4 miles from the shuttle drop to the trailhead. We would strongly recommend a shuttle. We had a group of 5 people and it took us 7 hours to complete the canyon.
great trip, 2 other big groups in the canyon on the same day. car shuttle needed.
Fun and beautiful

Standard route
Weather took a sudden turn as we approached the slots, which was quite stressful. Otherwise this was a fun one.
Canyon itself is easy and fun. Routefinding was no problem. Good, moderately tight slots and awesome views. Raps and climbs were moderate at the worst. One portion in the narrows has you hunched over for quite a while. Cheap gloves are a must to keep hands from getting shredded. The exit was well marked with cairns, but the class 4 finish is not easy for non-climbers, and doesn't have any good anchors at the top, so if you can't climb out you'll be effed. Some other guy's truck was parked right at the exit (10 minute walk to ours), but I didn't have time to go look to see how he parked where he did. Overall good, fun canyon, with a challenging exit - tough climb over the slab.
Fun slot first rap we DC to the moki steps. The exit seemed somewhat long, and the exit exit was very exhausting (I think my Hormel lunch didn't sit well with me though). Their was one class 4 climbing that was kind of sketchy not really hard, however it is about 80 ft climb up a crack.
Full Larry with large group. Long, fast day over Easter Weekend.
Fun canyon. Did from camping at Alkatraz.
Great trip with Kevin, Jon, and Todd. Need to stage two cars and be sure to print the a copy of the exist point as it was tough route finding.
Very wet!
perhaps my favorite canyon yet. big day, nailed everything. rope would not pull from mid-stage anchor at first big rap into *amazing* chamber. group of 6 =7 hours car to (shuttle) car. verizon near TH.
