With Kai, again struggled to find rappel. Great hike and rappel. 2 hours
First canyoneer trip for me and my daughter. Great beginner, there was a webbing and quick link in place.
Tiff L, Mike, Ben
Came through and did the lair again after doing another north wash canyon
Did a quick run through, fun as always, great weather.
Perfect weather. Cool cave.
Parker’s first solo
Cool rapel, plus some side missions. With Caleb and canden- 2hr 32min
dropped into the lair, cool view, always love goblin valley.
Fun! Found the original rappel as well as an alternate with a two stage rappel.
Ray, Laura, Ellen, Olivia, Eden. Fun single rappel. Hiked it backwards the first time and were unable to do the rap so returned a year later. Took some route finding skills.
Sun afternoon with Maddie, 1h45m including lots of nav issues getting to the start & some issues with the rope pull
With Dwayne Campogan
With my dad. Approach was confusing. Went up on the south side of the hole instead of the north and it got sketchy. Going more north there was a sign for the rappel. The first rappel had too much rope drag to pull the rope and we had to redo it. Second one went off without a problem.
Full family. Got lost on the approach and had to do a second lap around the valley to find the spot.
Fun hike up slab by rock and short rap into goblins lair. Took us awhile to find where to rap and we wandered around rocks.
Solo
Been through 3 times.
So much fun! Great overhang. Be weary of webbing.
With Sandra, Leo, and Lisa. Sandra and Leo and I followed the beta and map on Gaia to find the entrance and did the rappel into the Lair. Met Lisa at the bottom and all hiked out together through Carmel Canyon.
H2, SW, TC, ER, EA, AH, EH had to do some backtracking but really that made it that much more fun! the Lair was super cool and we did a dual rope setup for the rap with our 150' ish ropes.
Took Chad LaDow, Craig Caldwell and Mark Hartner. Started at 7:30 at night to beat the heat. Returned to camp at 9:20 pm. Great Time
Rappelling into a sea of tourists.
Ryan Wilcock
Rope grooves were very deep. Needs protecting at this edge.
Always start our canyon trip every year with this rappel to assess and prep everyone. Very busy when we were there.
Took Dallin, Kalani, Kalea, Alexis and Noah through
Enjoyable canyon for Dylan's first time visiting. Mini me and dr evil dropping in.
Natalie, Dots.
Very fun. No real troubles finding the rappel. Super stunning and so fun to drop down while tourists were looking on.
After UofU Class - Took Roscoe, Tristain and 2 students. Quick hike. started at 9:30 am finished around noon.
Nice spot in Goblin Valley
the drop into the cavern was inspiring. great little rap.
We had lots of fun scrambling around on the approach, some minor route finding challenges going down, and one of the cooler rappels I've done. Bad rope grooves with nothing to protect them! Stunning cave, great place to relax and cool off before the hike out. This made a fun afternoon outing as an accompaniment to other canyons in the areas (we made a two day trip out of it).
Alysen, Kevin, Jonathan took the run after waiting out the heat. We started at 6pm as the sun was setting and a windstorm started in. Got back to camp with twilight quickly fading around 9 pm.
Super sick! would do again.
So fun! Short but super sweet! Hike to the entrance was incredible! The Goblin valley is unreal! I gotta go back and explore deeper into the small cave at the bottom of the rappel!
Took the fam to the edge of the pit. Laura decided not to rappel and returned. Brett was with us, so he hiked back with her. The rest of us rappeled down into the cathedral. Great fun.
TONS of webbing on anchor (7!). Fun rap, easy hike out.
First rappel. Addicted!

Took my friend through his first rappel. Fun and mellow. Great directions on the site.
Fun approach and good introduction to rappelling if going with beginners. Anchor is straightforward and the chamber is impressive.
Fantastic, the approach hike is beautiful, just like the rappel. If you hike back at night be sure to bring a map and compass and pay attention to the trail.
Little confusing finding the rappel station but if you take your time and do a little searching you'll find it.
Took three hours due to some route-finding errors and getting stuck behind a large commercial group. WARNING: A large rope groove with a very sharp edge has formed at the rappel. It took a huge core shot out of the rope for the group in front of us. Be very careful about making sure your rope does not end up in that particular groove or bring a means to protect that section of the rope.
Fun Trip with Davey, DJ, Justin and me.
w/John and Owen
A great short hike. It is hard to find the right canyon.
approx. date. have done this twice. There is now a sign for the exit route and they guide tourists on the canyoneering route (company out of Hanksville)
Fun!
Fun, short canyon!
Nice rapp. Tricky to find if you don't have coordinates.
fun once over the saddle keep going down some social trails go back up. no need
Fun little trip through goblin valley's hoodoos. Great rappel into a cave
