w/ Lex- Right fork. - took the east approach up the slick rock, then there is a nice trail below the top of the mesa. super pretty and easy going canyon. Lex lost her glove but found it. Took our time and took lots of pictures. 3hr 4min
right/east fork, Nina, Lidia, Elisa, John
Ran the east fork with Caylin, Peter, Noah, and Koda. All water was avoidable with some stemming. Anchors were in good shape. Some spots were difficult with a dog but overall very beginner friendly.
Stephan, Alex, Lucas, Joel, Heather, me. Did West fork. Evidence of previous water but only one little puddle that was easily avoidable. Threatening rain but stayed dry the whole time.
Left/west fork: 4:20 car to car with Dwight, Brian, Kristin, Todd, Boone, and Keene. Second time in this canyon.
LF. Todd. Brian. Keene. Boone. Kristin me 4.20 C2C. Iffy skies- did not rain. I could DC entirely. All dry. Escapeable in five spots. We took 100’ & 25’ ropes.
Right fork via right bench approach, coming in just below R1.
We descended the East Fork of Leprechaun Canyon with a group of four adults and five kids. Melissa and her son Nolan. Chris and Chrissy with their two kids, Ava and Aiden. My two boys and I. It was the first technical canyon for three of the kids (Nolan, Ava, and Aiden), and we had to overcome some tears and fears. The existing anchors were in good condition with new webbing. Recently, someone placed two unnecessary bolts, including one at the first rappel near the longstanding cairn anchor. We encountered several pools of shallow water throughout the canyon, but they were all easily avoided. We carried a 100-foot rope and an 80-foot rope, which were sufficient for the short rappels. It was a beautiful day in the North Wash!
Left Fork- With Kai. Pretty chill, and super fun. Encountered some water, but was raining in the morning. Started raining on the way out and that was fun. Would be great camping at the TH. 2hr 41min.
Middle Fork DK, Brer, Amy, Eli -4 stars Only one truly uncomfortable spot
Middle Fork
Descended right fork with Anna and Andy. Went up middle fork for 1.5 hours of squeezing and then turned around and did it again! So fun
Right Fork of Leprechaun, solo. Took 3.5 hours car to car with a little wandering up the middle fork at the end of the right fork. Bone dry. All anchors look to be solid and in good shape.
North Wash November 2024
Great but so busy
Ran right fork with Jonah and Josh. Fun
Combined with Miss Piggy. Fun canyon, but remember that first rap can be avoided by walking further down canyon.
Left/West Fork with Jacq, Emily, Jenn, and Meg. A few narrow sections but nothing like Middle Fork (did this in 2013?). No issues, no water, easy navigation.
Hiked from bottom with family- made it to optional rappell above dark slot with Boulder climbing. Then group turned back to right fork for lunch (the littles did great). B and I continued and did most of left fork and half of middle. I did a bit of right but impassable rappell encountered early on
Solo Lep-West. First canyon in north wash. Deep and dark! not much water, up to knees once or twice. Right after big rains.
We descended the West Fork of Leprechaun Canyon, exiting through the lower Middle Fork. Group included my Mom and Kim and Kimberly and the two boys. They had fun in the canyon but were sketched out by the narrows and Kim apparently had a panic attack. Despite some troubles we made it through the canyon successfully. The existing anchors were in good condition. There was no water in the canyon. A 100-foot rope was sufficient for the several short rappels.
Kari and I hiked up from the bottom to the narrows after setting the car shuttle for the White Crack-Cataract adventure. Fun!
leading emmett's friends for bday
Have done all three forks. Water conditions very a lot from completely dry (February) to chest deep pools (August).
3.5 hours. always takes longer than I think it will and it is always more tiring than I think it will be. Did it with a 100 foot rope in my red backpack. The way the anchors were set up, I could’ve used a 66 foot rope. Because the tight sections are so exhausting dragging your backpack through it, I think it is best to just use a teeny backpack with the 66 foot rope and that’s it. it is 96° today and this was my third Canyon, so that might be why I am so tired.
Alex and I did middle fork. Did rappels during sunset and rest of canyon in dark. Very narrow. Alex got stuck. Need to be mindful of slant and direction you are facing

Did West fork and East Fork over the weekend. Trent, Alex, Lucas, Tyler, Gabe, Kylin, Jill. Very cool canyons. Another group commented that we could probably make the middle fork
right fork
took the 3 of us 5 hrs. slow going with a lot of stemming over water. would have been much faster had Levity done more stemming on her own. We had to pass her back / forth and carry her across. It was tiring.
Tyler, Mike, Tiff L.
Hiked up from the bottom with a group that couldn’t do any of the technical stuff.
East Fork, solo, 1hr 45min, no water
Decided to take a trip down on new year's eve eve to test out some canyoneering christmas gear. Love leprechaun canyon, this is one of the family fav's. We did left fork and brought head lamps to light up the dark areas. Had great weather and enjoyed the tight squeeze!
Morgan's b-day :)
My first technical canyoneering experience! I'm stoked
Great time!
Right hand. Great Fun. Started at the top with a shuttle. Thanks Trace.

Dwight Toni Dave Todd Kristin Boone Brian B&K 4.5 hours Dry Skinny Approach longer but back to car closer I really enjoyed the technical part of this canyon- my favorite so far! But is my second time!
Did the right (east) fork. This canyon had a little bit of everything which was cool. Honestly it had a lotta bit of squeezing and it got old fast. My pack was bulky and heavy and dragging it through got very taxing. It my height and weight, the squeezing would have been a lot of work even without a bulky pack. I might need to learn better squeezing technique or something. I canât imagine what the middle fork must be like after all the squeezing I did in the right fork. Maybe Iâm not built for slots? The hallway and high walled tunnel at the end were amazing. Incredible! A bit long after a 12 hour day the previous day. Wish I did it fresh.
Left fork
Narrows get a little exhausting after a while.
Middle Fork- super fun, scenic canyon. Hiked from the bottom, would repeat. With Caleb and Canden- 3hr 57min
Soloed Left Fork which was comfortably tight. Suggestion to pack small, bring headlamp, and extra webbing to back up or replace anchors. Certainly, need to repeat and also go back to complete the Right Fork. An amazing canyon that is more of a caving experience at times.
right fork
right fork
Did the Middle Fork, took 5 hours total. 2 hour approach, 3 hours in canyon. Was definitely tight, would not take anyone over 170 lbs here. Next time we will only take one small rope, no harnesses. I got my hips stuck at the very end where the rock becomes super smooth, but was able to wiggle out. Brought a head lamp but would have been fine without it.
East Fork, 8 people, 6hrs
All three
West Fork of Leprechaun, up Middle Fork for a bit
East Fork, 12 of us, 5.25 hrs
April, Ellie, Lottes and myself. really cool canyon, but pretty darn tight! we added on 2 additional rappels from description at the beginning (no walk around at the top of the canyon). got our rope stuck at another optional rappel - didn't realize we could have gone below the boulders and squeezed through! luckily Vinny (rando guy) chimneyed up and unstuck it for us!). not sure we'd repeat the left and likely won't ever try the middle. up to checking out the the right though!
With Connor and Mike
Right Fork (despite what Aimee says)
Middle fork very fun
Greg and I did the left fork. Very tight in some spots. fun!
Completed the east slot in about 5 hours car to car with a group of 2. Some sections are narrower than others. Water can potentially be avoided throughout. Very easy to access and a great hike to reach the backside of the slots.
Left fork
Did the West Fork - it's a fun, narrow canyon. Easy to navigate approach.
Left Fork
Did middle fork and was very very tight in spots. 2 short raps with no water
LF 3.45c2c K&B Toni Jord D&N. Dry anchors good. I was able to DC 100%. Only used 50’ rope for group hooked to meat. Squeeze was easy
Left with Judy, then again with Doug and Carolyn another year Rich solo
Left with Judy, then again with Doug and Carolyn another year Rich solo
Middle Fork with Justin, Kasey, Kylie. Took 6 hrs including waiting out some rain. Too narrow for Kasey, she just barely fit by going low (Justin had to go high).
West Left Fork DK, LG 5 rappels 1st sketchy 2nd long (35') 3rd the actual 1st 4th & 5th - downclimbs that we rapped
Tight.
5.5 hours, 3 people, some water
A pleasant end to a long journey in Coli. Canyon can be descended with webbing and no harness. Unmentioned climb at the very end was the clear crux. Will Smith would have not slapped this canyon. Great activity to do if you need a distraction from Hacky Sack.
Did this fork on Saturday with Erik, Christian, and Canyon Colby. Down climbed early sections which had some webbing but I was able to get down without using. Canyon got pretty narrow in some parts, but not as slim as Chambers. I was rope muling which added to the physicality, lots of narrow grunt sections that took plenty of effort. Passed a family just under halfway down that seemed to be having a hard time. We were worried they wouldn't make it out before dark but saw them when we were drinking beer at the exit. Completed in a leisurely 4 hours with a few extended rests. Christian, in typical form was the only one that managed to circumvent the knee deep pools and remain dry. Cathedral at bottom wasn't quite as breathtaking as it lived in my memory but still beautiful. I asked the group to stop there for snacks so I could enjoy. Met Josh from Thailand, who owns a climbing shop and develops routes in Chiang Mai, at the exit.
Did middle fork after the long Coli Odyssey. Grand time. Hardest part was the small climb at the very very end of it.
2hrs 45min, solo, no water
Hiked up the left fork and descended the right fork with Memo
Middle fork. Crew was Naomi, Collin, Alf, Jeff, and Juan. Took 6 hours with a big crew. Knee pads necessary. Loads of fun. Tiring and lots of stemming. Shoulder blades hurt but would do again. Should have done the first rap before the point on this website rather than the two smaller ones. First and last rap, we used the the rope as a handling rather than gearing up. Could have gotten away with using all raps as handrails but rapped the entrance into the canyon. Probably don't take a beginner again. Stressed out the friends that were newer to canyoneering. No snek sightings.
6hC2C,me,pi,brett,kim.day after rain, canyon full, a little unavoidable water to 3', stemmed over deeper?,K&B 1st canyon ever. first tracks! 1 mandatory rap@ pour-off. 14'
Did right fork
Only did the left fork
Went up the right fork and down the left fork
with Sonja, Dick, Eileen
First trip!
I really liked Leprechaun. We went down the Left Fork and then climbed up the Middle Fork as far as we could. The Left Fork had some nice rappels but was mostly downclimbing and stemming. The further you go the better it got. There was a really cool dark section at the end and a subway like exit which was cool. We ate lunch and then climbed up the Middle Fork. Carson started to get pretty claustrophobic as it got really tight around your chest. This whole day took us 5 hours car to car.
great weather. Good late fall/early winter canyon as long as weather is reasonable
Perfect, except for knee deep cold water for a minute.
Main fork
Skinnnnyy
East Fork
Did at night with a few guys from Kyle’s group. We were camping at the head of the canyon and Greg was out shuttle at the bottom. Can’t remember which fork. I think it was the middle fork. I don’t recall ever rapping.
Right Fork
faster this time with a bigger group.
Right Fork Dana Laurie Adam Flo
great the second time
longer than expected
Did over the summer with Dani. Itâs pretty and the slots are fun and then they get old after awhile ð
We did the middle fork, and it was very cool. The tight squeeze is no joke. I am 5'10 and 145 lbs, and it was still a pretty tight squeeze.
Left fork is nothing super spectacular-- the main fork is what is super super fun
Did the Left Fork. Used hand lines and rope rappels vs. down climbs for almost everything because we had 5 kids in the group and it was just safer. Very narrow for the adults. Very, very tight crawl through a rock fall near the end. Think skinny and you'll make it, Mostly dry when we went, mid calf pool at a dogleg turn near the end that was unavoidable.
dry!! very fun, felt like the canyon beat us up haha
Completed Right Fork with Kelsie Everson, Jamie Pederson, Tom Bugg, and Julie Everson

Middle lep, high stemming was high but easy
Single fork. First canyon with significant amount of stemming
Day trip with Dave, Brandon, and Trevor Coffman.
Kelsey's book describes it as the most sustained slot canyon in the area. It was so long it took us about 3.5 hours, and most of it was in slots that we could barely squeeze through. We had a blast, but were ready to be done! When you get to the boulder pile toward the end, go underneath the boulders. And do NOT bring a backpack, or at least bring a very small one. No water. Coolest easy-ish slot I've ever done!
All the forks.
me,pi, did middle fork. tight-fun, have done all 3 forks now. RF is good beginner, LF is good beginner but tight.
Joel, Syna, Whitney, & I shuttled to right fork with the Burb, dropped into right off a massive deadman. right was dry, came to the confluence of main and decided we would go through left because the girls were feeling good. so we hiked/scrambled up the approach to left and again dropped in off a big deadman, we had to build a small deadman in the canyon and actually removed one that wasn't necessary. The best part was the in the main fork between left and right, it was full of boulders, tight and dark, it was fun!
Right fork was dry, 1-2 avoidable puddles. Rope grooves are dramatic on places that can be downclimbed.
With Evan and Jared
Really narrow and dark in places, chamber is beautiful
did it after left fork of blarney, for a fun 2 for one. much more technical and interesting than blarney. rapped 3 or 4 times. lots of great squeezing after meeting up with the middle fork.
https://youtu.be/Zy1l_BedL2g
We did the middle fork and ran into a pot hole full of water near the end of middle and with no obvious natural anchor it made it quite difficult to get across without falling in.
Late lep type 2 fun
Did west Lep. Great downclimbing. Very worthwhile.

We did the Left Fork and had a blast! I'm a fan of dark and tight but I could see how even this side can psych some people out.
Went with Brian and Landon. Highlights included Brian sitting on Landon's head, Landon and I craddeling Brian down a steep slope, and Brian's usual sour attitude making the whole affair hilarious. It was a great time.
Left fork
Left fork. Very dark and narrow at some points. Just one spot with water toward the very end when we went.
Very tight and technical, but super fun and a great day all around! So tight, I couldn't even turn my head sideways at some points haha!
Did the middle fork. This canyon was seriously narrow and sustained. We were in the narrows for 2 hours. Head lamps might be a good idea but not necessary. Bring knee pads and elbow pads (I didn't and it was a huge oversight). There was one pool in the narrows that could be stemmed over. The pool after the confluence was waist deep.
Forgot the exact date of this trip. Did the Left Fork, was completely dry. We found an alternate start somehow. Had a decent anchor and lead to the true start. No problems, great canyon!
We did the left fork
Did east Lep--very fun!
East Fork w/John and Owen
Completed Middle Lep with large group of 15 (some inexperienced). Tony leading trip. One of my favs!
Super skinny slots
Did this with Christy, Shannon, John, and Stacey. LOVED it, perfect for taking a bunch of newbies and blowing their minds

Sorry, I don't remember the date I did this canyon. This is easily my favorite canyon of all time. Its got a bit of everything. A few raps, some tight squeezing, but not too much. There are some body puzzles and some slight water avoidance. And some really amazing views!
can be done with just a 66 ft rope without a fiddle stick as long as the anchors are set up like they were today
middle fork crazy fun and tight. keep your gear kit minimal. 3.5 hrs. right Fork 4hr due to painfully slow group who would not let us pass. Otherwise equally fun.
did the right East Fork. 66-ft rope with 66-ft fiddlestick. worked out perfectly
narrow! go low
bill, roxy, pie,me did RF. dry, R went up LF into Belfast Blvd and she loved it. next time we do LF.
